Sorry to be so pedantic, but boringusername, could you please change your user name. I have been a member of this forum for around a year and a half, and obviously others could confuse our posts. Surely, this will not be beneficial for either of us?
No problem.
sorry, didn't know a boringusername already existed.
I hope the colour scheme will be stoping red, blue and yellow. The red gives it that warm feel. I hope the shiny GMTV logo returns from the start of last Sept!
For what it's worth, GMTV needs to move out of the London Studios completely and 'do' a NBC Today in the Rockafella Plaza.
A nice location for a studio should be somewhere with a open space where people can come down as see the celbs who are guesting on the show outside, and see performances by music stars.
Somewhere like Covent Garden would be a good place.
Afraid I don't know the answer to the regional opt arc question. Much talk of ITN switch to 16:9 on Tuesday too, so one would assume their regions will follow.
Curved sofa? It's a new sofa, all the sofas have curved around a corner of the studio.
Back-projection screen from Barco (used mostly for CSO or GFX bullet-points) - scrapped.
As for titles - enough to make them 16:9 safe, again, under wraps - but not a simple arc-job.
On screen GFX - major change. Astons scrapped for 'Clarity system'. Much more animation. See - http://www.pixelpower.com/ for specs.
I've heard that as well, but wouldn't want to reinforce it to any great degree, in case they back-pedal at the very last moment again and nobody on here ever forgives us!
Wait and see on Tuesday is the best advice, I think.

Thats a great idea, as it worked well on the Christmas Show last year with eamonn and tess, which is a sort of GMTV programme
Wow, people actually watch on a Sunday? And I thought it was just my mother.
No I recorded it the first minute, as I set it on my Video Recorder, just to see if the News was on. If there was, there might have been slight changes, as they wouldnt be able to use the normal CSO, because they are changingthe studio!

Interesting points there.
Was the sofa curved back in the early 1993 days? I know they used the table a lot, but they did also have a sofa area, but wasn't it two sofas?
And then according to gm.tv (i think that's where i read it), the sofa has been covered 8 times, thank goodness they're getting a new one!
I wonder if we will be able to tell the difference!
REALLY Interesting point, no rear projection screen!
So what will happen to the weather? Will it do a GMTV News and just use a CSO backing. I never understood why they didn't just put the weather graphics onto the screen, instead of making it green.
And why did the weather and news never share the screen, would it have taken much to move Andrea or Claire out and put the desk and Penny in?
Titles. 'Underwraps', does that mean that even you don't know, or that you're not allowed to say? It would be nice if they kept the same titles, they're very nice, but bring back last years new GMTV Today music, and let us hear the new News Hour music.
Plus update the top of the hour idents with a new shiny logo.
Perhaps they're going to leave titles until Eamonn & Fiona are back next week!
Nice to hear that they're finally changing their on screen graphics. I know that the clocks had a few makeovers, but not many in the years, and the aston design has always been the same.
I'd like to something similar to the text number animation, where by they have an animation, yet simple.
Or what the hell, as i've said before a moving shining sun (ala GMTV today Titles) as the clock, with a shiny dark blue animated aston, would look lovely!
