Yes! Ive been waiting for this, The First day of winter! hehe. Bless her!!

Oh good, so I'm not the only one that finds Fiona endearing as well. I love the inane remarks, it just makes her more human for me, and I like that.

I take it they never replaced the webcam when they were putting in the new set, with the webcam still showing last weeks static shot.

I totally agree with you. I think she is far better than Kate!

What are the chances the new backdrops are changed for Monday?
(This is not a question BTW)

Well technically that is a question, it's just Rhetorical. Razz So they've decided to change it already. It always makes me wonder why they don't look at things before using them, IIRC they had a simular situation with last years music, it didn't sound right, you think they'd have noticed beforehand during rehearsals/tests etc.

They have changed the backdrop, and looks better. But they are cluttering up the studio with plants again - it looks tacky.

Back to the old backdrop again, I don't like it - it's blue and cold. I liked the urban look of the other one, apart from the big wall that took up most of the background in the presenter shot. Not keen on the plants dotted around the back, cushions are nice though.

The LK Today area is good. Although I don't like the titles, they go with the set now and it looks more like a different show.

The cameras seem very wobbly when zooming in at the top of the hour, and shakey when Brian was on. Didn't they used to have a camera that was high up and you could see most of the studio? It would be good to bring that back maybe.

I hate the old backdrop, if you watched THE SUNDAY PROGRAMME yesterday the static image of the flats were only on for half the show and after the break the old backdrop was put forward, the new backdrop will soon come back as rumours say the camera had switched itself off. Shocked
p.s I emailed cam vista, and they said the GMTV studio will no longer have a webcam! It was taken down when the revamp took place

What are you talking about? The background is printed on wooden scenery. There is no camera involved.

It's a shame that they couldn't have got a decent *new* backdrop, rather than just bringing back the old one... although it's still better than the council estate of last week.

I actually like the plants - they soften the set and make it look a little less bare, although I can tell you now a variegated ficus won't survive without natural daylight and plenty of it! Wink

Maybe the old backing is a temp one while they have something new made. It can take a couple of weeks (minumum) to have these made.

To take it off topic just a jiffy; you can get some stunning things made which go from day to night...

Not that GMTV would be able to make use of this, but its a good effect. Used lots in US sitcoms/dramas/movies.

That would be so good. If they could manage something like that with the London skyline, getting daylight in real time it would be fantastic. I'd even cope with another programme having a backdrop of the capital!

The 'no London' skyline backdrop wheeled out by GMTV is a very, very weak one.

For the record, GMTV should move into the old LT studio as soon as that bunch of gobby wimin shut up at lunchtimes.
It would give the show a nice instantly reckongnised skyline and would not put the idea that the show in London-centric into the minds of the bleary-eyed viewers.

How many Americans watching The Early Show on CBS, Today on NBC or Good Morning America on ABC write in to complain that the backdrop of New York ignores views in other cities across the nation.?

I'd guess none. .
