Its a shame the producer of a medicoreshow, that spends more time trying to convince viewers that it is actually live, and hawking comptetion lines, feels compelled to leave, following a genuine mistake.

When I first saw the title of this thread I actually thought you meant Fiona Philipps husband - Martin Frizell!!!!!
Anyway - more or less totally given up on GMTV nowadays - I wake up to the Newshour, then about 630 change channel to watch "Breakfast" on BBC.
GMTV is a totally waste of space nowadays - very featherlite presentation, featherlite news and more importantly too much frivolity. Nowhere near as inforamtive as BBC Breakfast. After its initail failure GMTV did become a great channel, but since Frizell took over the helm (and ITV buying STV out thus gaining 75% of the channel) I feel that it is actually very unwatchable and its even worse than This Morning!!!!

Sorry, but recently at least, that is ****. BBC Breakfast has been trouncing GMTV for a couple of months, and even now when you would expect GMTV to recover after summer, it is either a dead heat or Breakfast is ahead.
I think this is more people realising what a neverending steaming pile of **** that GMTV is, rather than Breakfast having a massive improvement.
Compare this to the last couple of years when GMTV used to be usually comfortably ahead.

I've never understood why so many people watch television first thing in the morning. How can you eat your breakfast and be in the lounge at the same time unless you happen to be a slob that eats their breakfast cereal on their laps?
The kitchen table with the radio, is how I thought most people had their breakfast!

Lol, indeed! We've had a portable TV in the kitchen for about 15 years!
On the subject of GMTV, can somebody explain something to me? On my TV when I select a channel the channel name appears at the bottom of the screen. For ITV1 it says "Granada Television" but during GMTV it always changes to "GMTV". Why is that? Why does the channel name change during GMTV?
I haven't watched GMTV regularly for a long time - if I'm awake in time I watch BBC Breakfast or Channel 4 for sitcoms (Frasier, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond).
