The thing is TV-am would have probably ended up more or less like GMTV anyway, the only thing I think that would differ are the Childrens programmes, where as TV-am either bought or made their own, GMTV will use ITV's or Disney's programmes.
GMTV tried to be different, but after 6 months it simply became TV-am, as that is what the viewer wanted (the ratings proved that) and it still is, so I would have thought TV-am would be no different.
I far preferred TV-am, GMTV is only good as it shows the ITV Regional News at Breakfast time, something TV-am never did and I don't think they were going to.

I remember GMTV suddently became like TVAM a few months after it began. The studio became idential to TVam.
I wonder why TVam never had regional news bulletins?

I'm sure that TVam did introduce regional news c. 1986-87.

Did it? I never recalled so, probably as I was too young, though it never stuck out in my mind, I know from looking on the TV-am Website, the guy actually owns the TV-am North East set, and they did have plenty of Regional offices, I never knew they did News.
On another note, When will we see the Christmas Dec's go up in the GMTV studio? My money is on Monday 11th. Be interesting to see if a new jingle has been made or whether the old one will be used again. Also the last show before Christmas is usually pretty good, anyone know if there are any interesting guests on the Friday 22nd Finale?
