GMTV used to produce an annual event called "Get Up & Give".
It was presented by the-then GMTV team at BT Tower and, if correct, was a charitable gesture off GMTV? I think the last one was in 2000.
Anyone know what happened to it finishing? And does anyone else remember this?

I remember it as well. They had that catchy tune to go with it "Get up, today is the day, get up and give. ....." something like that.

I think the reason why they dropped it (and it has been said before, so this is how I know) is that the last one they did didn't make as much money as the one from the year previous, and apparently it's popularity was declining.

To be honest I was never a fan of it, frankly it was enough to turn off, 5 full days of a Charity Telethon whilst you ate your Corn Flakes, no Thank You, the News will do for me.

I think if TVam was still around, it would have somewhat morphed into what we have as GMTV these days

Agreed, TV-am although popular in it's day was a product of it's time really.

Could you imagine Roland Rat & Timmy Mallett on tv in 2006 Laughing

Oh, i never knew that. It was a catchy theme though.

I'm surprised they havent bought back Mr Motorvator - what with a lot of people being obese.

They should bring back Mr. Motivator, and Timmy Mallet! It would be great seeing them both back on Breakfast TV.
