I think kate will go if the bosses start messing her about. I think she deserves the yop job to be honest rather than some new presenter that hasn't put in all kates work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mad Mad Mad

Do the bosses not want to give it to her or is she happy with her current position?

Bosses

Why not? I think it would be silly to overlook her after all this time and GMTV already has too many female presenters its unreal, does Fiona have to actually be physically replaced?

Fiona has been there for 12 years. Opportunities such as this don't come around all that often. It would be the ideal time for them to bring in some fresh blood, some new ideas and possibly change the direction of the programme.

They'll probably get an increased interest in the programme with the introduction of a new face, which wouldn't be the same if Kate were to be simply promoted. She presents the show half the time anyway.

Kate not getting the top job.

How would you know, i think its far to early to actually say for sure. Id say a decision would be made by bosses around late Oct, early Nov.

And this is from your years in broadcasting, is it?

Obviously not, im sure they are thinking and drawing up people now, but an offical decision won't be made yet - i presume, obviously i could be completly wrong considering i don't work at GMTV, or in television for that matter and never will.

Could you offer me some light at what will happen then?

I couldn't, as I've nothing to do with it, but I'm sure someone else who knows more about it could.

According to this article, GMTV have called in Red Bee to overhaul it's on screen look, which will appear on screen in 2009.

Well, it's fair to say that the Guardian write-up is mostly accurate.

Red Bee have done some excellent stuff too though. The BBC One Circle identity is brilliant as is the Dave branding.

I hope they keep the sun logo though but update it to make it more modern. Branding companies are too trigger happy with getting rid of good logos.

Also, I can't believe they are risking losing Kate who is the best presenter they have by a long way.
