I can't imagine why they would want to get involved in the matter, but if they did feel the need I'm sure their voice would have to be taken into account as the majority shareholder (75%).

GMTV bosses. ITV is a shareholder, not a full owner of the channel, but presumably the board would have to sign off such a large expenditure - so...

Of course, I wasn't thinking about their stakeholding. How many ITV chiefs are on the board?

No idea, but I always thought a stake was represented as an interest, rather than in numbers. So one person per shareholder plus company board members?

Ulrika Favourite For GMTV Job



Fiona Phillips' announcement about leaving GMTV after 12 years naturally begs the question, who will replace her? The surprise favourite is Ulrika Jonsson, who began her career as a weather girl on TV am.

According to The Mirror, the Swedish beauty is in secret talks with GMTV about becoming their new sofa queen - one can only wonder what GMTV's Kate Garraway will make of that. She's been tipped as the natural successor by the bookies. An insider is quoted as saying: "Fiona's departure is a blow, but this gives us a chance to give the whole show a spring clean. Ulrika is perfect - beautiful and intelligent with an ability to laugh at herself. Ulrika is an experienced presenter and we are now in serious discussions."

Did you read the comments on the previous page from a GMTV insider which dismissed this story as rubbish?

I can't see why GMTV would seriously consider Ulrika Jonsson. She is talentless and lacks personality. I can see the viewing figures plummet.

Besides from the fact she's radioactive... a confessed sex-addict for a C4 show, was involved in the whole John Leslie unpleasantness, may have made a sex tape with Stan Collymore, played 4:4:2 with Sven, has four kids by three dads...
An all-round wholesome role-model.

there was a VT clock before the LK today coming up thingy after 8 this morning (Thurs). I don't like the presenters attempt to look towards the LK today set for a recorded show.
