The speculation from the Daily Express is even more laughable than the Daily Mail version.

They've imaginitively gone for the name that is linked to every female presenting role, Mylene Klass. Shocked

Their other contenders are Konnie Huq, GMTV News Reporter Michelle Morrison, GMTV's Tiffany Royce and even Holly Willoughby.

Ahem, you've missed one -

Princess Diana.

I would imagine GMTV can't even begin to afford Holly or Myleene. These are hosts who currently earn more than Fiona for doing far less work.

The Express truly is the world's worst newspaper, as some of those names its suggested are extremely laughable.

Why is this even being talked about? It should be Kate (Mon-Wed/Thu) and Penny or preferably Priya (Thu+ Fri/ Fri).

Kate Garraway is the best presenter on GMTV.

I knew GMTV was bad but didn't realise it was that bad.

GM.TV revamped website has been launched. It is an improvement on what was there before.

I should say only the home page is updated.

Interesting news. Even though I have for many years preferred Kate to Fiona, when you start to think about it, it will be a totally different place without her, in the same way that it was after Eamonn, even if people didn't like the pair of them, they were the strong faces of GMTV.

I think what people like about GMTV is the fact that the presenting team can have a laugh on slow news days or at certain points in the programme but always conduict pretty serious interviews when needed.
I'd like to see a similar agender to what we have been treated to through the summer.
I quite like the newshour, but would like to see it presented a bit different to the main GMTV Today, not sure how though, even if they added a larger newsdesk. I'd still like to see them rejig the studio a bit, but not sure how.

It will be a change to see Fiona go, but surely her departure could lead to a new lease of life come the new year. Even if the Christmas week is filled with best of shows with news inserts whilst they change things.

I think to make the Newshour different they could do with different lighting, or having a makeshift news desk where they do the music performances. Put a nice, sleek desk, couple of plasma screens wheeled behind them, could like nice (as i see it in my head!).

I would say its a very safe bet that Kate will become full time presenter, unless she says no. I think this would be a good way to promote Kate and Andrew as the main faces of GMTV.

Ben Shepherd would be good for the summer run, and a weekend edition of GMTV Today. I'm sure i read somewhere a while back they were introudcing normal GMTV to bank holidays - which they did, and suppose to be at weekends too?

Making major changes at the same time as the loss of a long running presenter could result in failure. Remember The Big Breakfast's middle era

That is true. Didn't it work for NBC Today though, even though it's a different country.

The problem with The Big Breakfast seemed to be that the audience wouldn't change, and therefore the BB couldn't either.
Look at the 2001 change, yes it could have been the faces, most probably the same in 1996, but in both cases they had to revert to something that had gone before.

I hope that they will slowly change, or keep to what they've been doing through this summer, so that they could update more so than change. By changing the programme this autumn, they could update the programme making it feel fresher, but content wise the same.

You mean when Gaby left at the start of 96? They carried on as normal with Zoe Ball as a replacement, but things got worse. The major changes didnt come until Zoe left in August.

Considering GMTV just hold the Channel 3 licence for a few hours each morning, is there actually a requirement for them to make a "breakfast show".

If they chose could they perhaps fill it with cheap repeats, with the exception of any required news bulletin etc.

Katie Couric left NBC Today and with the arrival of Meredith Viera came a complete new look, which included it being broadcast in HD.

The new look pulled off really well though, it is still the top rated morning show however NBC is very hyped, they present from outside with a crowd everyday, and they have a lot of money.

I think GMTV needs to look at Today's graphics which are really lovely. As for the set, it doesn't need to be rejigged just yet, but when it next does get a new look I hope they don't just stick to the same 'template' and recolour walls and by a new sofa. It really needs to be different, with a proper desk for news.

I don't think GMTV could ever have graphics that good though..

Couldnt they rent out (or buy) LS1 from MTV. That would be nice in the morning, a look over Leicester Square.

Maybe they could start doing more from outside the studio like they did on the "thames beach" when there were works at TLS.

BUT PLEASE! ANYONE FROM GMTV! NEW GRAPHICS PLEASE!!! *begs*
