If its true about a clear out of females at GMTV then thats probably most likely. With her already being one of the main presenters it would just be stupid to promote someone else above her. I don't actually think Fiona will be replaced, I just think they'll move Penny, or even Priya, up to present Thursday/Friday, assuming Kate doesn't go 5 days a week.

Well i'd assume that Kate will get the top job and present Mon - Thurs.

Don't assume anything
I'd be tempted to place a bet on them poaching someone - Kate Silverton is one that springs to mind....she doesnt have a regular role at BBC News any more, now that Sophie is back on the One, and Carrie has her slot on the News Channel....unless they are obvious about it and offer Sian Williams a **** load of money to cross over!

I think the BBC automotons can happily rule themselves out. It would be a real person on the sofa, not a posh jolly-hocky-stick W.I candidate.
No auto-cuties or fake camaraderie BBC Brek nonsense - so Sian and Kate should aim for 'The Sky at night' and 'Countryfile' respectively.
Who said it would be a woman anyway?

Ben wasn't strictly a replacement, he was promoted and eventually replaced by Michael Underwood on Entertainment Today.
They'll probably do the same by promoting one of the female staff and bringing someone in at the bottom if they have to, although I doubt it will be Jenni Falconer

Don't forget they replaced Eamon with Ben Shepard!
So if someone else is brought in it''s more likely to be Kate Thornton then a "journalist".

I think it would be foolish for GMTV to not promote Kate to main presenter. Then have Penny staying on, on a Friday.
Although if they did get someone else in outside GMTV i'd go for someone like Katie Derham or Becky Jago, if your looking for something different.
