The conservatory look worked quite well this morning I think although I don't think it would have worked so well if it wasn't sunny. They should try something similar when they finally get a new studio.

I thought it looked very cheap and badly lit. Until I could make out the location, I thought that they were on an OB from someone's house. Thank goodness it was only a temporary measure.

It was badly lit but aside from that I think as a set something very similar could work and it would be different because they've had the "homely" feel practically since it began. When they have a set change all they really do is change the window and sofa.

They picked the right day for it really with the weather being as nice as it is.

Indeed, if it had been bucketing it down in the middle of winter, I doubt it would have looked as good.

I wonder where the newsreader was positioned, we only saw one camera angle so presumably she could have been anywhere

Isn't regional news part of GMTV's franchise?

Indeed it is, and thats how its always been. Bit weird to think that there was no Regional News on ITV at Breakfast time before GMTV started.

Oh I thought the TV-am bulletins were super, and they were read by a Mr Gavin Scott.

As it happens.

Thought it all looked great.

How about a joint studio for GMTV & This Morning ? Wouldn't that reduce overheads ? And they could have a quick turnaround during Jeremy Kyle ?

so do we know the reason why they were outside this morning? Seems strange as they had all weekend free to do the work?

With there being no regional news this morning will they have to make up for the lost air time in bulletins this week? As there is a set quota.

Anyone any idea if we'll see any on-screen changes tomorrow when they (presumably) return to the studio? God they need it.

Perhaps it takes longer than two days? Or maybe Monday was the only day free?

I don't know , but I'd very much doubt it seeing as they're only out for maintenance.

The OB trucks were outside the London Television Centre on Upper Ground on Saturday so maybe GMTV's weekend output used the trucks too?

Very interesting from the look of the caps on here.

It does look different and interesting, obviously it will be because of the sun today as has been said. But a bigger set on that level would look lovely, even in the winter as people walk past going to work. I'm not sure if it would be possible to make enough room somewhere at TLS, probably not, but it would look lovely.
