Another blink and you miss it screen this morning. Just before 09:25, the 'TLS Studio 5' came on, but went back off when it changed to the ITV Network.

That article mostly refers to the schedule changes which occurred a few months ago. I think an insider on here has suggested that there is a relaunch planned for September.

I was just curious who had said about it being in September.

Hopefully Fiona won't be here for that much longer Razz (hopefully).

Anyway, The Richard Arnold Show returns on Friday.

Most of GMTV's relaunches happen in September. Like when the new GMTV Today graphics and music were launched, this happened on Monday 4th September 2006. There's normally a trend of changes happening on the first Monday of September.

There's also many years when that doesn't happen though, or when the changes are really minor

I can't recall an insider saying anything, just the usual build up to nothing that happens ahead of every September and January in this thread

From what I can tell, there HAS been word from an insider that things are changing, Andrew...

Yes, relaunch is official
Yes, graphics and set being looked at.
Yes, it's expected to be a a dog's dinner, like previous attempts, because management are split on what they want, and the people who have been charged to oversee it have no experience in doing it before.

Blooper at 6.35 this morning in the Meridian / Thames Valley area... the local news failed to play, so we were treated to an extended ITV Local News headline bed and some dodgy graphic of the news background with these red, green and blue tubes moving towards the left of the screen. We managed to get the regional weather before returning to Amanda Piper in the studio. There was no apology.

Its getting silly now. I think its time for GMTV Ltd to stay the same in terms of board members etc but I think ITV should take over the broadcast and essentially put GMTV out technically as an ITV programme. GMTV are messing up far too frequently and its just cheapening the brand even further.

Or just sack whoever keeps cocking up the automation.

If it was the ITV Local News bed then presumably this means that the opt went as planned but Meridian didn't have a presenter?

If it was yet another GMTV opt-out fault, they would have got the GMTV logo and music, rather than the ITV News one. That's not to say GMTV have rectified their problems however, Anglia News came on late about 2 weeks ago, in which Anglia then extended the broadcast over GMTV as they realised the important message about flights from Stansted to the Champions League final at the beginning didn't make it to air.
