Newshour
With John Stapleton and Gloria De Piero

GMTV Today
Mon-Thur: Ben Shephard and Penny Smith
Friday: Ben Shephard and Gloria De Piero

I like Glo.

She's like a more intelligent version of Jayne Middlemiss Laughing

Where does 'De Piero' come from ?

It sounds Italian to me, but she's got a Northern accent !

Italian father, English mother maybe?

Apparantly the presenters try to pronounce her name as 'Gloria Dippy Aero' so I've read.

Absolutely not.
Is Gloria presenting tomorrow morning? And where are the 'normal' team? On holiday? Wait..I'm a week late. What was she like?

No it was supposed to be today but in the event it was Ben and Penny again today.

I did see a bit of Gloria on the Newshour though and she did seem slightly wooden so maybe they thought she wasn't ready to do Today yet

I would have thought that they would have brought in someone regonisable, a bit like they did with Esther McVay back in the 90's between Anthea and Fiona. Even though Fiona is technically the lead presenter, Kate usually does every holiday and Friday (and some Thursdays).

This has actually got me thinking, what will they do if Ben & kate are still there when their children get to school age, will they get school holidays off too.

I noticed that with This Morning Fern has been off this week, yet seems to be back next week. I did wonder whether Mr Schofield will be off next week, i.e. keeping one of the presenters on for a week whilst the other is off.
Maybe after last summer they don't want to hand the programme over to anyone, even though Eamonn Holmes did quite well with Ruth over half term.

Yes, Phillip is off next week. Fern is back and co-presenting with John Barrowman.
