They just need to update a bit. Firstly, get rid of that horrid backdrop!! Why cant they use the one they had around the performance area with St. Pauls and the Gherkin??
SOMETHING THAT SHOWS LONDON!
not some crummy council estate.
I wasn't aware the programme was aimed specifically at London - I thought it was a national programme possibly hoping the 85% of the population outside London actually tuned in.

Ok, yes, it is aimed across the UK, but it should show something that all of the UK knows. not like what they have now. and most people know that the show comes from London
I don't think that it needs to be London, it just needs to be a nice clean image. I do however think that they should have it created so that it can brightens/darkens with the daylight hours and the weather. What's the point of having a fake view at all when during the winter at 6am it's brightly lit with even the added shadowing appearing.
I do think that they could do with a tittervating, and do so across the company. Aren't there still logos from 1993 doted around offices, and signs in the back areas?
With the constraints of space in their studio, there isn't a lot that they can do. Though I would like to see them have a play around. As has already been said, the revamp to the studio was lovely, it was modern, it was minimilistic, and the background and randomly flashing LED lights were different, but it was all put back the following week.
What do people think of the sets for This Morning and Something for The Weekend in the way that they're made to feel homely, but are also colourful? I've thought that this set has lacked colour, saying that, wasn't the idea behind the LED's the fact that they could light up the background however they wanted?
In the way of a background, they couldn't CSO on a background, as they'd have to empty the studio, and rebuild the technology in the way that the ITN studios have been created, or leave it to luck, have only three solid angles, and hope that when they cut cameras, they cut the background that needs to be CSO'd quick enough.
I see that Eamon Holmes had a dig at GMTV this morning. Whilst doing the showbiz paper review with Ashley Pearson he was talking about how Heather Mills likes to carry out interviews on that downmarket channel on ITV.
He worked for a number of years for this downmarket channel and now is discussing showbiz gossip. He has done very well.
I do agree that they need a change but not sure about the This Morning/Something for the Weekend idea. They have announced a relaunch that will focus more on news/current affairs and i think that the studio should reflect that. What they need is to start from scratch. They need to decide on a logo, although i think it should remain more or less the same but incorporating the new sun, and have that as a generic logo for its production, marketing, on-air, off-air and on the satellite trucks etc. This way it will make it look much more professional. I really cant believe the number of different graphics packages they use its awful!
I keep referring to GMTV 1 because there is GMTV 1 and GMTV 2 !
Theres also a GMTV2+1, GMTV3, GMTV4 and GMTV Kids.
GMTV2, GMTV2+1 and GMTV3 have allowed ITV to take over the stream meaning ITV2, ITV2+1 and ITV3 are all 24 hour channels. GMTV4 and GMTV Kids simulcast, although GMTV Kids refers to GMTV4 and the old GMTV2. GMTV simply refers to GMTV1; there is no need to say GMTV1.
Hopefully they will axe Andrew Castle and that Fiona Phillips, they are both awful presenters and are just 'eurgh'.
OK, I sort of agree with you on Fiona Phillips but Andrew Castle? There's nothing wrong with him, he's a great presenter, especially when he's with Kate Garraway.
