some big fat woman kicked me out of the reception once, just cos i asked for a tour! moody cow. but i seen it.

One this that definitely needs a relaunch is the GMTV site. i hate it. and the video clips are even worse. it takes too long to load.

Can i ask, why is there the GMTV logo outside TLS, but not ITV or any other programme made there?

The sign points to the GMTV Studio Entrance which is in a different place to the main entrance.

Interesting. This morning there was a rushed goodbye from Fiona & Ben, and then LK Today came straight on from local news with Sarah Elliott (here in the North West) introducing LK Today.

It worked a lot better than the previous set up. It felt less awkward and more structured.

At least they said goodbye, when I've seen it the past few weeks it's been a quick handover to the regions, and then they didn't return.

Does anybody know when Amanda is due to return from maternity leave?

I'm incredibly surprised that only a few comments have been made about the fairly obvious plan to scrap local news from ITV. If you look at GMTV's official 2008 plans they actually say they're reveiwing whether or not to use Macmillan Media or other production companies to produce the rest of the local news across the UK. And I have it on good authority that meetings have taken place in which producers/presenters were told they had to be more 'GMTV'. They were told to 1 - acknowledge the GMTV presenters ie. 'Thanks Fiona, now the local news' rather than 'Good morning, now the local news'. 2 - Have more GMTV branding ie. GMTV on the plasmas, etc. 3 - Scrap all reference to their local news service or website ie. no ITVlocal.com graphics or on-air references to the site. All in all it's fairly clear to see that by September there will be announcement from GMTV that it's handing the contract for local news in England and Wales to Macmillan Media!!

Why does the sub heading of the thread say relaunch 2008? As far as im aware, changes are being made gradually over the year, as allready highlighted.

It actually says 'Relaunch September 2008' despite this not being mentioned anywhere, especially a 'relaunch' using TV Forum definitions of a relaunch hasn't been mentioned at all

Prepare for the usual TV Forum building up expectations only to be disappointed routine that happens time and time again

They've always had GMTV on the plasmas. I think if we get a new set of graphics soon, we could well be seeing local news adopt them. It also wouldn't surprise me if eventually the newsreaders will be sat in front of a screen with the same image as Penny's projected onto the back, but with e.g. GMTV North West.

Tyne Tees have only recently put GMTV on the plasmas, when they were told to ditch the 'itvlocal.com' dog. I'm sure this is the case with a couple of the other regions too.

I saw a trailer on GMTV a couple of days ago for "The Sofa Factor", where it says "Do you think you could present live on GMTV? If so, tune in in April"

Does anyone know anything about this? I can't find anything about it on their website.

Are they looking for a new presenter, or is this just to find someone to present for just one day, for example?

I'm not sure about this either because i remember last year when there were promos for The Sofa Factor but it never actually happened. I think they could do with a refresh but i don't think that they should split up the current team too much they work well. Maybe it will be like reporters and newsreaders rather than actual anchors for the shows. Don't you think it would be a bit risky advertising for an anchor if people apply who have no experience??
