The new wallpaper in the studio is barely noticeable to be honest. Unless the camera's are fixed on it you cannot really see it. With regards to Ben Shepard now working Mon-Wed's i dont understand how people see this as promotion? Thursday's and Fridays are surely the same as any other weekday?

Could it be that the onscreen chemistry is better between Ben & Fiona than Andrew & Fiona?
I enjoyed todays programme, especially the 3 way talking between Ben, Fiona and Kate (who was reading the news during GMTV Today). It's a shame that they don't do this more often in my opinion.

I quite like the new wallpaper, it's very subtle, though I still think that they could do something with the lighting of the backdrop so that it's not so bright first thing on a winter morning. I'm still not sure on the giant GMTV logo, I think a fireplace or even curved selves (as in cut curved to match the shape of the corner, rather than curving upwards at each end).

Speaking of dressing that set, did you notice that all of last week they had a lovely floral display behind the main presenters, but this week it's gone.

Is it something that is placed there to replace the tree so that it isn't so much of an empty space at first, as I'm sure that they did something similar last year. Or is it the fact that the boss didn't return until Monday?

Now I'm not a GMTV viewer, but I see Monday to Wednesday as three days, and Thursday to Friday as two - surely that's a promotion?

To be quite honest i don't really see as it makes much difference because before Eamonn left, Andrew and Ben used to share the Thursday/Friday slot with Kate, and i don't think its ever been the same since he left. I like the chemistry that Andrew and Kate have moreso than Kate and Ben. Fiona and Ben do work well together too, they seem to have got more used to each other as the week has gone on. As to whether its a promotion who knows and quite frankly who cares?!

They've had a different person every day this week reading the news on GMTV Today

Last week they had Gloria on the Newshour. Her reading of the headlines in her broad accent is quite amusing

EDIT: After looking at the schedules, it seems that they're celebrating it this week on LK Today.

If you go through their Watch Again clips theres a brief montage of TVam footage and an nice interview with Lorraine and Timmy Mallet with Roland Rat next to him but not saying much... thankfully.

Ta for the link. Shame it hasn't been well promoted but it's good they've acknowledged TV-am and infact from the clips on the website it seems to be more about TV-am than GMTV.

According to the Radio Times BBC Breakfast will be having a minor celebration on the 17th and a few former presenters are invited back.

There is also some of Lorraine's interview with Anne Diamond from earlier this week. They seem to get on so well!!

I think you could be right. Ben & Fiona do seem to have better chemistry between them. Im personally not a big Andrew Castle fan and think he would be far better suited working somewhere like Sky Sports News as sport is clearly his passion. He never seems that excited on GMTV.

The floral displays on GMTV seem to come and go week by week but you might be right that it was there to make the set seem less bare now the huge christmas trees have gone.

I prefer Ben and Fiona, Monday to Wednesday, with Andrew and Kate, Thursday to Friday. Ben and Fiona have more chemistry, I think everybody could tell Andrew hated Fiona. Who was the woman presenting on the newsdesk today? I think she presented on Tuesday too.

I noticed the new presenter on the News desk, called Marsala if I remember. Kate seemed quite hyper today I noticed. I'm glad Andrews been 'demoted', I didn't really like him, he seemed quite stiff. Fiona and Ben seem much more relaxed.

Marcella Whittingdale to be more precise... she used to work for Meridian IIRC, she's a great newsreader.

where are did there get shown?

Quote:
For the first time in their history TV-am and GMTV have worked together to celebrate 25 years of breakfast television on ITV. The TV-am website and museum helped co-ordinate a week of special programmes hosted by Lorraine Kelly to mark the anniversary. Some well known TV-am faces were invited onto "LK Today" to remember their days on "Good Morning Britain". We sent fitness presenter Lizzie Webb to GMTV's studios on London's South Bank to meet up with some old friends, including Roland Rat, Lorraine Kelly and GMTV make up artist Simon Jay who also worked at TV-am.
