I remember GMTV celebrated their 10th Birthday back in 2003, although suprisingly they did actually acknowledge TV-am aswell.

Also BBC Breakfast (Time/News) will be 25 on the 17th this month (my birthday too btw, although I'm not 25) so they usually give that a mention.

I'm quite surprised that they haven't celebrated it to be honest. Have you seen the new wallpaper in the studio - not sure exactly what thats all about but still! Perhaps trying something out for a makeover in the studio???

There's a special feature on GMTV's website, celebrating 25 years of breakfast tv:

Given that February 1st will mark 25 years since the launch of TV-am, maybe this will be when they celebrate the anniversary on TV.

EDIT: After looking at the schedules, it seems that they're celebrating it this week on LK Today.

I always like to think that the picture in the background on the very first day of GMTV...

...was a little nod to TVam as it looks like a frame from one of the first few seconds from when TVam use to open up for the day.

If you go through their Watch Again clips theres a brief montage of TVam footage and an nice interview with Lorraine and Timmy Mallet with Roland Rat next to him but not saying much... thankfully.

WIKIPEDIA - yeah ok I know not THE most reliable source - says :

Main Newsreaders
Ben Shephard (Mon-Wed) - previously Thu-Fri
Fiona Phillips (Mon-Wed)
Kate Garraway (Thu-Fri)
Andrew Castle (Thu-Fri) - previously Mon-Wed
On 30/12/2007, it was revealed that Andrew Castle has been demoted to the Thu-Fri slot with Kate Garraway, while Ben Shepard moved up the ranks to the Mon-Wed slot.

Is that right about Andrew Castle being DEMOTED in favour of Ben Shepard?

Hasn't Eamonn grown since then! I don't know what the new wallpaper is about, and i dont think they did when they chose it. They only did a little bit next to the windows as thats all they can afford after last years..... antics. Laughing

AND BRING BACK THE WEBCAM AND WIDE SHOT OF THE STUDIO AT THE TOTH!! and a new studio, and new Graphics, and new LK today, and new ET today (and get rid of today after every bloody progamme name)

The new wallpaper in the studio is barely noticeable to be honest. Unless the camera's are fixed on it you cannot really see it. With regards to Ben Shepard now working Mon-Wed's i dont understand how people see this as promotion? Thursday's and Fridays are surely the same as any other weekday?
