Oh well, GMTV have even ruined Roy Wood's Christmas Eve slot this year, by having him miming to the original "I Wish It Could Be Christmas" rather than performing live.

Is nothing sacred any more?

I wouldnt blame GMTV, it might have been their choice to mime. But as with everything in this world its always GMTV's fault.

It's a flippin' Christmas song that has been mimed before. It wasn't sacred in the first place.

Usually though, he does perform it live with a sax band, and customises it a bit. But not this year - so why not just have shown the video and be done with it?

Oh well, I suppose GMTV have to make savings to pay their fine somehow.

Not a fan of GMTV then? Razz

I bet you were singing along to the song, or did you sit this one out in protest?

Typical TV Forum, a really festive GMTV Today and the only thing picked up on is a negative one, don't musical acts often mime on GMTV as they don't have a studio set up for musical performances, what with the 'stage' being a small corner in a studio already in use for the programme

Yea a lot do mime, but some do sing live. I'm not fussed either way, i enjoy the Christmas Eve and NYEve shows, and the sing along at the end always puts me in the mood to party.

I think it was nice of GMTV to make an effort after the year they have had. They could have just been like most other shows and had business as usual.
