Seen off with a segment of the original music and, er... that's it:

Nothing less than I expected, mind.

Could've played the music for longer... Sad

As for the trailer: "Beard or no beard?" - I like that reference to the final few weeks of Adrian's The One Show tenure there. But the trailer should've waited until after the commercials, really.

'Always trousers' made me snigger a little too.

But unfortunately people DO believe the portrayal, no matter how correct... see the recent Daily Mail headlines!

But that doesn't make true

Showbusiness is a very fickle beast - in my line of work 80% of us are out of a job in our industry at any one time - but I think Ms Phillips summed it up perfectly when she said that people need to know who they're waking up with.

And she's right, hence why GMTV needed a big shake up and that what it got. People should soon know that they'll wake up with Adrian & Christine, like they did with Fiona and Eamon!

what was the special little something?

the closing music?

Yes the music - hands were tied by management in terms of doing anything big.

There was also a sound effect applied at the end of the theme music (a child’s voice saying ‘bye, bye, bye’ – spoken over the last few frames of the animated logo). Was on the out-going feed from TLS but doesn’t appear to have made it to air due to the slightly abrupt cut-off I guess.

Yeah you can hear that on the gallery clip earlier (although I thought it was someone in the gallery rather than on air). Have to say though - the abrupt cut-off was due to the programme ever so slightly missing their off-air point rather ITV cutting them off. It's not like there's someone waiting to fade them out when they've finished, there's a fixed off-air point they'd be working to at which point you get you trailers, break and black all timed to hit 09:25 exactly.

Absolutely. Wasn't trying to suggest network had cut them off early somehow ...

Any more clues as to where Helen Fospero is off to?

That was played just after the lady counting down hit zero - so I don't think it was going to go to air anyway, and just to be played in the gallery and studio. But when I first heard it, I did think it was someone in the gallery AND thought they said 'bye, bye, bye, bye' to the 4bar GMTV jingle.

That music is 3 tracks mixed together, first being the main David Arch track, second, someone said was McFly and the signature notes from the 1999 package.

Is there usually a GMTV ident / branding weekend mornings or is it straight into CITV ?

I notice that the kids shows are listed as GMTV this weekend, but next weekend are just listed as individual shows.

So you're saying McFly did the rock guitar part?
