I think it is sad how low-key the whole thing was. If only GMTV could go onto another channel (Channel 5).

I thought for a moment with all the crew gathered we were going to get a repeat of the TV-am ending!
One benefit of being in Studio 3 is that they could all fit in, would have been a bit of a squeeze up in 5.

Seen off with a segment of the original music and, er... that's it:

Nothing less than I expected, mind.

Well what a sad ending, sad that they decided to say goodbye in the space of about two minutes. And I cannot believe that at around 9.15 they repeated the pub story.

I thought the same about the pub story. Would it have affected the viewer not to see the story again? Rolling Eyes

I woke up at 6:00 to see if they were having anything special for the last day. No goodbye messages, no presenters returning, no discussion of it in the first hour, or nearly anything at all during the show. For the last ever show of GMTV, that takes the p***. The bosses at ITV obviously didn't want to make a song or dance about it. And then, straight after the end of the show, they rush to the Daybreak advert.

You should be ashamed, ITV.

I couldn't agree with you more! They spent more time saying goodbye to presenters who have left over the years! And that Daybreak advert airing just after just feels like a slap in the face!
