Watching this morning, I'm surprised they haven't hired Gráinne Seoige for Daybreak. She'd be much better than Kate. Lots of journalism experience from her time on Sky News Ireland.

Apologies if it's already been mentioned but what's happened to Richard Arnold? They had guest presenters doing the TV pick this week.

Holiday Time!

I guess Lorraine has negotiated her contract so that she will continue to have school holidays (probably all the more now that she has to do 5 days live in London) - so I guess the guest presenter thing will become a regular feature. I wonder will part of Kate Garraway's role also be to cover on the "Lorraine" show as well? Is "Lorraine" still going to be part of the same breakfast viewing, the same company, or is it a different production company?

Oops...

At 07:26 on UTV, GMTV fell off air for about 30 seconds. The 'out-of-break' sting played, stopped half-way through and went to black screen.

Was this just on UTV or across the whole of the ITV Network?

Sorry James, I was in a hotel this morning when it happened so it could've just been their system, and not a general UTV fault. Was noting spectacular - just as though somebody forgot to press a button!

I assume this will be the full PR of Daybreak, because we really haven't had much apart from name and website literally confirming what we could find out for ourselves.

I wouldn't expect too much, it's still 5-6 weeks away. Even then a lot of the minutiae details of the programme won't be announced and you'll just have to wait for the programme itself

Last chance? If there is a weekend Daybreak (which there doesn't have to be of course) there's no compulsion to announce it at all. It might well be that the schedules for the weekends won't be announced until the TV listings come out a couple of weeks before
