I'm very much enjoying all this certainty members are demonstrating about the location of newsdesks times of updates and such and such - when in actual fact no one (with the possible exception of the insiders) have a clue what the programme will be like. At all.

Its all *super*.

Where would this forum be without such wild speculation? Laughing

Couldn't you just do an opt? Daybreak news presenter does the national bulletin, regions opt out, and then Daybreak presenter reads on into the London news.

If you engineered the right junction it could appear pretty seamless. The BBC used to do the same thing - pretty much - when 60 Minutes and the South East at Six local news both came from Lime Grove ISTR.

ITN used to do it on the mid morning bulletin. In the time it took for the end sting of ITV News and the opening sting of London Today to be played the background in the studio was changed and the newsreader carried on

Yes, a sep newsdesk and reader WITHIN the studio

Will this be Helen Fospero? Has she been confirmed as being involved in Daybreak?

Or perhaps Kate Garraway? This is what she used to do!

I don't think kate would read the news i think unless she gets 2nd choice and a lot of special interviews to she would be better off going .

as I say chris roberts ex sky news would be a perfect additon

Despite what people say about the logo, I am glad they didn't opt for this:

Sky's excellent showbusiness correspondent Steve Hargrave is leaving to join Daybreak, the new ITV breakfast programme.

Nice mention of TVAM this morning when they had Ulrika Johnsson on talking about shooting stars.

Oops, refunds and apologies all round this morning. Kate and Andrew say they've had to cancel the competition this week after the answer was revealed on-air.
If I remember the question was, "How many years since Live Aid?" - yesterday they did a feature about Live Aids 25th anniversary. Perhaps that was the reason?

I really don't get why a competition should be cancelled because the answer was revealed - especially on GMTV when the answers are about as obvious as they can be.

Competitions often used to feature a question about something which may been featured in the show, and who exactly is it benefiting cancelling the competition? I doubt many people suddenly decide to enter now the answer has been revealed, whilst those who entered without seeing the answer revealed are the ones really losing out - especially as for most it's not worth the effort of trying to get a refund.
