Surely if ITN take over news provision most of those roles will be made redundant.
exactly. The list someone's drawn up on here is pointless. And why would Daybreak cover the 'East' and 'South' when ITV have long since got rid of correspondents in those areas?
So if you were ITN how would you cover Daybreak as well as the existing ITV News output on the same number of correspondents as there are now?

Nobody has said that will happen - ITV News would probably have to take on a couple of extra faces to cover elements of Daybreak, probably with one or two dedicated reporters but mainly making use of correspondents which then may report for the Lunchtime News too and indeed the later bulletins on days not required on Daybreak.
Re: The Morning News - I imagine it'll stay as it counts towards the C3 News Output, rather than the breakfast franchise output. Depending on how the news output on Daybreak works though it could end up with a slightly higher profile presenter if they also do the Daybreak news bulletins too.

can you rellay see one of itvs main presenters of news presenting at 5:30 in the morning the highest up you would proably achive is someone like Geriant V or Romily W , I personally would make helen presenter of the morning news then keep her on to front a itv news summary during Loraine and let Adrian and Christine read the news during the programme .

It's rather difficult to read your posts and they are becoming unnecessarily tiresome to understand. Please remember that you're not texting someone, or tweeting them.
I appreciate that some people can't spell, that's why the board provides a spell-checker. However, you could at least try to use some punctuation. If that's not possible, then you could at least try to break up the rambling sequence of letters with a new paragraph.
Some of your posts seem inciteful, but people aren't going to continue reading them if you don't make any effort to make yourself comprehensible.
I can imagine the backdrop to be like the blue bbc news studio from a few years back (the one used in daytime) but with buildings looking like the city I can Imagine the desk to be semi circlish and there to be screens behind the presenters and then in another area a sofa .
I personally am imagining that the backdrop will resemble the skyline of London, seeing as the view out of the window is the skyline of London.

I can spell and punctuate.
I am doing it right now , the only reason I sometimes (increasingly oftern) type like that is because i am rushing.
I am sorry if I have caused any problem and please don't be put off reading my posts.

The 'correspondents' won't just be contributing to the short news summaries, they would be contributing to the whole programme. An extra 2 reporters won't cover it - if they have, say, a live and a couple of features like BBC Breakfast does.
However if ITN are just doing the news elements then 2 reporters would be plenty.... but then of course the correspondents would definitely be needed for the rest of the programme.
Whatever happens; Daybreak, like GMTV, Newsnight, Breakfast and many other programmes will want to have it's own dedicated set of correspondents who will be associated with them.

Which goes back to the point to which you responded to... without taking on the reporters that are launching Daybreak, how do they cover the shifts? They could have a reporter working towards the 1:30 and still be on shift for the 10... but that reporter certainly couldn't start at 3am, work towards Daybreak and possibly the 1:30 and then needs replacing for the evening. They need to double up.
And it's not just on screen faces of course, they need another set of output producers and editors
The Morning News, remember, has minimal production going into it, there's probably only a couple of people working on it and any new material from overnight is agency or is feature material in the can.

What's that got to do with it? it's a quite normal shift to do, although the average reporter will do a lot longer hours than that.
Stuart was using sarcasm in his original post. Someone had said something to the effect of 'an eight hour shift is incredibly hard work, no-one should have to do it' (well, similar ) and Stuart said 'such slave drivers' - clearly mocking the original poster. You misunderstood the post however (easily done) and it appears from your post that you thought Stuart was being serious!
