I don't think that is what caused this screen to appear. Notice how it says 'News Programme of the Year'. This was the endcap from ITV Evening News, not a test card or a fault caused by a broken link.
Also, notice how it is slighty thinner than 16:9, just like ITV News is. There was also no break in the sound while the ITN logo was up.
Here is the file in context...

Notice how the original dog says 'Sky Sports', GMTV's dog says 'Pictures from BBC' and my eyes tell me they nicked the pictures from ITN.

Did anyone notice that the clock seemed different today. The font used seemed slightly different.

Looks normal to me Shaun, but then again I don't watch GMTV very often.
At least it's showing the correct time, unlike the SW Bulletin on Breakfast which was showing 18:45 at 6:25 this morning
EDIT: This is how GMTV's clock looked this morning (what is it normally like?)

Would TV-am have done such a thing? No.
Seeing as GMTV is now 75% owned by ITV Plc, it was only a matter of time before they got tarred with the same brush...
.. the 1991 franchise auction still makes my blood boil at times..

Looks like a fault by whoever editted together the pictures, maybe they did cobble it together from an end sequence from an ITV News bulletin?
The aston should read 'Pictures from Sky Sports', the source via ITN is irrelevant.

There's no reason why TVam wouldn't have got caught up in such a thing, we have no way of knowing what its situation would have been had they been around today. In fact I think it's pretty likely that they would have been doing something similar
And remember it's not just ITV who've been tempted by the premium rate phone thing, Channel 4 and 5 have both been in trouble for the same thing
