Please say this isn't the finalised logo!!! http://www.itv.com/daybreak/

Sorry if you guys have covered this already.

If that is the logo, I don't hold out much hope for the programme if that is the best they can come up with!!

Facebook seems to have done well out of it.

I'm glad someone said it - that is just a snippet of what is to come and doesn't give any indication of the graphics package or on screen look. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised on the 6th September.

More announcements to come in the coming weeks so watch this space.

Thanks for the info, but I'm waiting until it's all on-screen in September til I judge anything, I don't mind the logo looks good, I'm sure it'll look better when it's fully implemented.

I was just thinking reading all that it looks like its going to be a new team but what about weekends its throwing viewers away because of the quality of weekend breakfast if they were I was thinking to go alonside Kate as number 2 Chris Roberts who has just left sky news and as for corespodants

Senior/Cheif : Richard Gaitsford / Jonhathon Swain (both talented journlsits with ride range of experience)
Special - John stapleton (already been confirmed)
Politics - Libi Veina (will have just finshed matirnity cover for A.forrest for itv news)
Economics- Mark Eddo ( not been round for a while knows quite a lot could rival breakfast and have martin lewis as a guest )
Sport- Dan Lobb ( Keep him on as he is talented and experties )
North - Sarah Elliot ( former on granarda and knows a lot about the area)
South - Adrian Brittan (former itv news)
Scotland - Johnathon Willoghby ( by the border )
General Reporters - A. Sergent , C,Krenchmar, M,Arnold , Oruj deinte, Alex thomas any others

PS: Sorry about my spellings if bit dodgy not sure if I get them wrong you can turn teacher and put me in detention haha

I really would hope for a Weekend edition of Daybreak. Fri-Sun then could be presented by a dedicated team. I hope they get rid of Dann Lobb, he was alright on Sky, but is just a total tw*t on GMTV.

Also get rid of Richard Gaisford and Martin Swain, the first one is a miserable sod, and the latter another complete tw*t.

If Geraint Vincent gets a job on Daybreak, then I wont be watching.

they need some one from itv news to make it look itv orientated rather than gmtv regiged with scott, stewart and austin and mates all in other roles its just vincent who remains but I think that type of show would suit him

also do we know if clare and kirsty are staying on Confused

It's going to be a big challenge...

To retain GMTV's core audience AND appeal beyond it...

To make the programme clearly distinct from GMTV without alienating the current audience on Day 1....

We all remember the first few weeks of GMTV all too well when they managed to alienate the TV-am audience and had to quickly become TV-am Mk II.

And, 10 years earlier of course, TV-am in its original incarnation was a disaster when it attempted to provide an essentially serious news magazine.

They don't need someone from ITV to make it ITV orientated - it's a show on ITV and has nothing to with ITV News, and that is how it should stay. Again, making the show too newsy is not what an ITV breakfast show should be aiming for, as BBC and Sky do that already.

I hope they keep Geraint well away from Daybreak. He's style is suited to ITV News coming across as sensatialist and cringing reporting.

In fact a lot of ITV News's reporters including Emma Murphy and Keir Simmons have bought their reputation right to the dogs.

I was having a good dig around Transdiffusion and came across an article about the Sunrise Television brand that never happened, thanks to Sky, but it quotes that if it had become Sunrise the main programme would have been called Daybreak and Daybreak Plus....

Not a bad read I must say.

They need to make it news orinetated its meant to be different from gmtv and a upmarket consumer show and if its going to rival bbc and itv it does need a journlistic team so yes itv news in fact it would be a good idea to have an itv news summary at the beginning of the programe and gerraint is only a suggestion
