Maybe anoilrag could shed some light on what Kate Garraway's new role will be?

I'm not anoilyrag but from what I hear she will be roving correspondent and Christine's stand-in. Though nothing has officially been confirmed yet.

so similar to John then - Adrian's stand in and roving correspondent. Quite a step down for really, but as others have said - your gotta pay the bills!

Ah so it seems Christine Bleakley will be there for the launch of the new show as BBC have confirmed she is no longer going to be presenting The One Show when it returns next week

The BBC has confirmed she won't be appearing on screen again on The One Show - they've not confirmed when she comes off their books.

I doubt though she was tied exclusively to the BBC though so even if still technically under contract could work for other channels.

ITV had to launch with both though - would have been ridiculous to launch with Adrian and a temporary stand in only to bring in Christine three months later. I doubt ITV would have wanted to risk the show succeeding without her too.

I noticed two ITV News(ITN?) reporters on GMTV this morning, it's slowly introducing them all to early mornings.

John Stapleton was on the early morning ITV news on Wednesday, and during the elections, Sue Jameson and Richard Gaisford were reporting on the ITV News.

Does that mean they have been picked up by ITN and won't loose their jobs?

Probably ITV are utilising staff on some of the big stories. Makes good use of having John live from the scene on the Early morning News as hes there already waiting to go live from 6.00 on GM. It also gives more emphasis than just the usual edited package.

Also on a separate note as a result of the integration review, GMTV sales is not being merged with ITV sales, it has been decided to keep them separate.

No - it's just a sign of ITV's wish to unite all news and current affairs on the channel together. It's the same as when regional reporters appear on the national news.

Not sure where the 3 months comes from.

GMTV is being relaunched in September I believe. Christine's contract with the BBC expires on October 1st. How do you get 3 months?
