I caught a bit of this morning's show around 8am - they ignored the news. Just forgot about it. They had some waffling piece about Michael Jackson's death. Then at 4 minutes past they cut to Helen doing the news. Im not surprised GMTV is heading to the dustbin.

If they did the news at 4 minutes past then they didn't ignore the news. This is normal.

Let's get something straight; crosschannel WORKS for GMTV, I don't, have never claimed to.
The music debate is silly. It's done, pitched, chosen, live with it.
GMTV dies in September. The new breakfast show begins on September 6th. It's different, very unlike the current show, very different to BBC Breakfast or Sky News Sunrise. It's NOT competing with those formats, it may not even have a sofa.
It will be newsy and topical, it will be fun, it will be entertaining and watchable - but leave your preconceptions behind. If you hate it, you have alternatives. If you like it, it's because you want something new. Finally, the ITN deal is almost done, but may not be ready in time for launch, maybe December.

Thank you for clarification anoilyrag, and is it true that Emma Crosby could be axed within days?

Hmm sounds interesting, something I'd probably like to watch at Breakfast time, but good to see the ITN side of things coming into practice, thanks for keeping us informed.

So, is the music good? ( if you've heard it that is)

Intresting on no sofa. Certain sounds more newsy. Although i'd prefer them to keep the sofa ( for lighter interviews etc) and have a desk too. But either way, i like the idea of the desk.

Stupid that the ITN deal might not be ready for the launch! Any idea on whether it'll be branded ITV News or be seperate. Also if they'll have a seperate nes presenter, like Penny was, or whether Christine & Adrian will be doing it?

Thank you for clarification anoilyrag, and is it true that Emma Crosby could be axed within days?

yeah I read that again in the paper today. Any news on the presenters leaving/ Christine's backup, anoilrag?

I think a breakfast bar type desk would be good. Not too newsy, not too trashy.
