Interesting reflective article asking how the new show will perform from

, doesn't add fact but poses some questions, it's worth a read.

yeah I was going to post this, but seen you had.
It is a good read I thought.
Interestingly refers to the new show as 'ITV Breakfast' still, even though we believe it won't be called that.

yeah I though that, but I should think that there just using any name that's going around.
I think I trust anoilyrag more. Although they could still even change the name now!
Two 'Breakfast' shows would be confusing. I think ITV Breakfast is more of a holding name at the moment, with Daybreak being revealed a little later in the year.
I caught a bit of this morning's show around 8am - they ignored the news. Just forgot about it. They had some waffling piece about Michael Jackson's death. Then at 4 minutes past they cut to Helen doing the news. Im not surprised GMTV is heading to the dustbin.
Didn't ITV already use "ITV Day" branding about 5 years ago for some new but crap early afternoon programming?
As I recall, it wasn't very successful at all, and they eventually scrapped it in favour of the regular ITV1 branding.
I think like Joshua says, I think these names are just holding names and then when it comes to it they can make a big story out "Daybreak" lauching.
I think there doing the same with all the GMTV hosts "quitting" gradually , by annoucing Ben's leaving then a couple of weeks later Andrew is, their getting free publicty for the new show every few weeks rather than all at once.

Yeah they did, was used between 9:25 and 6pm IIRC. I think it got dropped in less than a year.

Although you're probably right, is it possible that Daybreak and Lorraine's new show might be considered part of "ITV Breakfast" in the way GMTV was broken into three shows?
