GMTV (1993 - 2010)

With the quiz scandal still fresh in people's minds, it would be a waste of time making a fuss over a new look. Best just to go along with things quietly until it has sufficiently blown over

Looks like GMTV won't be updating this year then doesn't it! Well I can;t say i'm surprised. I just think they need to sort it out!!!

I have to say that even though many people may not like Fiona Phillips it is nice to have her back. Its kind of like the GMTV we all know with Penny and John and then Andrew and Fiona plus Lorraine and there is a somewhat comfortable feel. I am REALLY shocked that there was no update though. Do you think they will do anything - perhaps like was perviously posted- in the new year?

I don't see anything wrong with Fiona, we've been used to her for that many years, that we just know GMTV for her presenting. I wish they would get rid of Andrew Castle though, I can't stand him. I think when the set next gets a revamp, they need to go for a different feel altogether. They've been sticking to the same style of the sofa in the exact same place, the news desk etc. They should move things in different places.

Interesting therory, maybe use the studio on the side, rather than top to bottom, if you see what I mean, so that the sofa would be to the left of the newsdesk, etc. Though I don't think that they have enough room.

I wonder if they could recreate a RI:SE mk1 set, with a sofa at one end, a desk and a big screen at the other. Maybe not a desk as big as RI:SE, or maybe just a curved number on a circular platform, that when turned the other way can be lit from underneath can turn around to reveal Lorraine's area, obviously by that I mean part of the set.

Josh205 - I'm a bit two sided with Andrew Castle because he can be really really annoying but then again i kind of like the chemistry that goes on between Andrew and Fiona and Kate when they present together.
General - As for turning the studio round they could do that and i think it would give a new feel to the show. What do you think they should do with the set though because when this one was introduced it did look really fresh and professional, now it's looking tired and needs an update. I do like the red sofa though - sort of identifies GMTV. Graphics are another big prob of mine i want them to sort out GMTV today and the theme tune and the graphics to be like the 0700 and 0800 idents. They could also do more with the ident and perhaps make it more like titles again. They need to remake the main ident to be like this too. The newshour is ok but is again looking a bit old now and the pictures they use could be updated.
Also general graphics and clock ect could do with a new look perhaps with a bluer background and more incorporation of the sun floating/bouncing in the background??

A sofa area (like what they have now), and a live back drop in a desk area would be good for the newshour and then news updates during GMTV Today.

Hey i like that idea and then they could have a separate look for the Newshour and GMTV today.
I think that if there is going to be a revamp it will be in January to coincide with GMTV's 15th birthday. Perhaps then, they will reinstate the competitions too?

7am this morning, technical fault with new titles so they played the old ones again.

See, this is what i mean about GMTV. It needs sorting and fast! The lack of continuity is utterly ridiculous.
