Silly girl, not so torn now is she?
Off she goes into obscurity on ITV breakfast....

GMTV/ITV breakfast slot is hardly obscurity - the presenters have always enjoyed a higher profile than their counterparts at the beeb, especially in recent years - with the exception of Natasha Kaplinsky IMO

Has this decision really been made because of her wondering whether to go to ITV, or because of the recent press 'outrage' at her being offered such a high wage?

I give up.

Ridiculous name. Surely 'I Get Up' would be worth working on...

A statement's been issued to the press. She's doing the new show with Adrian - exclusive three-year deal.

A prime time BBC1 show plus Olympic coverage and Saturday nights is much more high profile than GMTV.

Also it's a big risk going to a new programme, look what happened to the main launch presenters of GMTV in 1993! A lot of people have switched channels (not necessarily from BBC to ITV) only to find that the other side doesn't know what to do with them, I hope they've got something definite in mind for her in prmetime

Well that's not a surprise. She need to sign before the money went down. I just hope she made the correct choice.

Good luck to Christine. Her and Adrian do have a lot of fans, and I'm sure their first day will have good ratings. Viewers will want to see how the show is, if nothing else. Then the question is, will the ratings stay high?

But GMTV is not obscurity.

They've moved fast to confirm she's joining GMTV, I wonder if she will be there for launch day?

Comparatively it is..... and if the new programme flops it definitely will be!

Well I reckon its the BBC that moved fast to reveal they'd withdrawn the offer before GMTV could announce she had chosen to go with them.
