The BBC could use Lorraine on Breakfast from 8.30 and do a similar show as GMTV with Lorraine.

Not sure how they'd fund that or justify it?

At the moment they have the same presenters 0600-0915 don't they? Spending more money on an extra presenter would be an issue at the moment - when the BBC is cutting costs.

Work has started on the studio transfer. Wiremen and TLS staff are working in the transmission room beside studio 5.
GMTV will transfer to temporary studio 3 in July/August, Al Jazeera sports will move to studio 5 from studio 7, full rebuild of studio 7 and control room for transfer and launch in September.

Studio 3 is larger than both Studio 5 and Studio 7.

thanks. oh that's okay then - was just thinking if it was smaller it might be visible on screen, but being in a bigger studio I shouldn't think will notice that much.

I suppose they need to move so they can sort out all the behind the scenes I.e gallery/control room stuff and to accomate Al Jazeera sports move.

I was watching GMTV this morning and I noticed it displayed a CITV DOG in the corner but it was CITV's last logo (the one with the sausage C). It disappeared after a few seconds though. Did anyone else notice this?

Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you, Gareth. I noticed as well. Strange - I thought that DOG would be wiped out the system when the new look came in? Rolling Eyes

Talking of CITV, there are reports today all ITV1 children's programming will be move to the CITV channel. Now, considering there is hardly anything in the ITV1 schedules now, I'm wondering if the CITV slots on GMTV at the weekend might be scrapped, in favour of either a weekend version of the new breakfast show (unlikely - that'll cost money!) or back to back repeats of The Crocodile Hunter or something.

I should think that the remainder of the childrens programmes being scrapped is the GMTV - they haven't really got anything else!

well like you say I wouldn't think there'd do a weekend version - although I think that would be a good idea.

As the weekend versions of This Morning have apparently been succesful and been extended, perhaps there'll go for the cheaper option of having "Best of Daybreak ?" Although I can imagine it'll be Crocodile Hunter! Laughing

As Wimbledon starts on Monday, that means Andrew wont be on for 2 weeks.

I think we may be seeing John Stapleton on the sofa as Ben is still currently in South Africa.

Running low on Male Presenters is norm for this time of year isn't it, although World Cup affects +1

+ Nick Dixon was news presenter at some point this week while Helen was on Location

What's happening to the current GMTV newsroom then? Will that be used by ITV or just sold to someone else to use for whatever? And will whatever it's going to be called, Day or whatever, be doing broadcasts from outside?
I really like it when GMTV are outside, they've got a great location to do it being there on the Thames. This Morning looks good from that pentagon too.
