I thought the problem with Lorraine signing for GMTV was that she'd have to present her show live five days a week - how would the One Show be any different? Apart from meaning she'd get back to Scotland much later on a Friday...

Well that may not be the issue it once was - given her daughter is now 16 years old.

(Yeesh - anyone else remember when she was born?)

Think Lorraine is smart enough to know to make hay while the sun shines - and presenter gigs may not always be on offer as they are now.

True, though the newspapers had made out she was very against the changes to her show. Then again, it was the newspapers. Rolling Eyes

I bet someone round her could tweet her. Indeed, I expect someone round here already has.

The BBC could use Lorraine on Breakfast from 8.30 and do a similar show as GMTV with Lorraine.

Please say anyone reading this with any remote association with BBC Breakfast will take absolutely no notice.

Sorry if this has been mentioned in earlier posts but is ITV's GMTV due to move Studio before the new programme is introduced in the Autumn or are they staying put in their current Studio till September ?

If the programme is going to temporarily move Studio does anyone in the know when then is due to happen ?

I doubt they would move to a temporary studio seeing as the studio they are supposed to be moving to, Studio 7, is already empty, they can just build the new set in there whilst GMTV continues.

Yep - no reason for a temporary studio if they are moving studios with the relaunch. They will be able to rehearse in the new studio with a new set, whilst still on-air with the current set in the current studio I'd imagine.

Which will be better. The last few times ( although there haven't been major changes) they haven't had much time to test the look etc. With this there be able to have ages beforehand to rehearse etc.

There is one way ITV could get around this, IE move the 09.25 slot etc:

Give UTV, STV, the advertisement rights and give them control over the local news. that is the only way ITV will ever be able to move the time slots around.

Why would giving them back the local news be a beneficial thing? I'm pretty sure that they're glad not to have to do it. They couldn't make a profit from the GMTV news surely?
