Yeah, interesting (I too no longer look at Broadcast since they went paywall)

It does seem a little bit unoriginal and London-centric to have a view of the Thames for 5 and a half hours a day. I suspect they might be using the old LNN studio, (which is currently in use by ITV Sport on behalf of a middle eastern sports channel) but has been badly under-utilised since they closed down

BREAKING AS IN LIFE THREATENING NEWS OR BREAKING AS IN UNIMPORTANT NEWS?

Breaking as this is a TV Forum about presentation, changes to programmes? I found It of interest?

Surely discussions like this is the whole point of this forum?

So Kate and Emma remain. I can see Emma taking over the Lunchtime News, so I think she will be quiet for a while. I have a feeling Kate will be clinging on for dear life until she is axed Laughing

just copy and paste the subheading into google and then you can see it

It's hardly breaking-news title worthy

That's brilliant but bizarre.... I can't see it working with The Times though! Sad

Has it? Shows how much I venture into the GMTV thread doesn't it?

I agree, Inspector.

ITV seem oddly convinced that everyone wants to look out of a window onto a London skyline, even if it is real.

They forget that most of the population don't live in London and don't actually care what happens there. It's rather senseless to effectively localise two live daily programmes in this way, especially after they realised that it didn't work for NAT v.3!

I wouldn't say it didn't work for the news - it certainly looked a hell of a lot better than the current, more sterile environment that is employed on ITV News.

I must say I'm rather confused that ITV got rid of the skyline on their news programmes - despite it looking rather nice, especially on NaT - because it was apparently too "London-centric", and then go ahead and put a skyline view of London on the new breakfast programme.

Where was that said?

This Morning has had a London backdrop for years and wouldn't have said that its 'London centric'.
