Is there any news on when this impending relaunch is going to happen?? With Adrian rumoured to start at the end of this month, surley they would want to coincide his arrival with a new look??

Also, isn't Penny leaving this month??

News today:http://entertainment.stv.tv/tv/174462-gmtv-bosses-eager-to-sign-grainne-seoige/ could sound promising!

I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't start until the relaunch.

Which is when?

September

Cheers!

Though that article seems to suggest Grainne wouldn't be a permanent co-presenter for Adrian.

Does Grainne have any loyalty to her employers..TG4, TV3, Sky News, RTE and now, maybe ITV!

What is GMTV doing for their election coverage on Friday morning?

Just going back to GMTV relaunch? I reckon it will be September, because I am sure I read somewhere, Ben's contract ended in April, but was happy to stay until the end of the summer.

John Stapleton and Lorraine Kelly are fronting GMTV on Friday and they have got Ben, Kate, Andrew and Emma on location for the morning.

They have also got James Mates and Julie Etchingham on board for the morning aswell.

James and Katie Dehram will also be holding a show staright after GMTV ending the coverage.

I think Thursday night into Friday should have Been one big show, like sky, it would have been a great time to get a taste of this morning, gmtv and itv news working together. I think Friday morning is the most pointless, election 2010 from itv news, then gmtv election coverage, then another hour of itv news coverage, then this morning ( info says it will be about the election), then loose women (most probably the first show on fri morn on itv not talking about election, and lastly it's the lunchtime news which will be just election coverage. Itv should have just let it be itv news themed for the day.

It's like switching channels for coverage, but it's just on the same channel.

Have a mate who's a news director, the latest plan apparently for September....

0600 ITV Morning News
0700 Adrian Chiles + AN Other GMTV Show
0900 Lorraine + live audience
1000 This Morning
1200 Loose Women

This would require the Ofcom scrapping of the breakfast licence I assume then?

ITV plc own GMTV, but they at the moment wouldn't have access to 9:25 - 10:00am in utv/stv/(Channel?) regions, unless they paid for it?

Or perhaps they have clear indications the breakfast licence will go. As someone else has said - ITV say jump, Ofcom asks 'how high'?

In principle, I don't see why UTV or STV would have a problem with this. At the moment they take network programming between 9:25 and 10:00 anyway. Allow them to sell their own advertising for the 9:00 to 10:00 slot, then pay an agreed share back to ITV plc, who technically have the right to the 9:00-9:25 slot.

The point people seem to miss though is although it might make sense for the breakfast slot to tweak timing a bit, the knock on effects for the rest of daytime don't really benefit ITV. Unless it's extended by half an hour I see no benefit of moving This Morning to 10am.
