So I wonder if the timing of Lorraine's show will change? Would make more sense to be from 9 - 10 than starting at 8.25 if it's having a studio audience. Weren't there mutterings of Jeremy Kyle being dropped?

I thought he HAD been dropped, and that it was over for him later in the year.

Yes confirmed - GMTV going to old LNN studio - Studio 7 and to be broadcast in HD.

Lorraine Kelly's show to be broadcast from Studio 3 in SD.

September launch planned.

finally some tusted confimation!!

Great news IMO - why have a view like that and not use it! Although if the ITV NAT was seen as being to london centric, surely you'd think ITV wouldn't want this! Laughing

September - expected it to be!

It makes sense to have Lorraine's show in the Studio 3 . Loose women works well in there and Lorraine's show has alwayas had that more "Loose women " feel - Although now it'll just be Loose Woman!
I wonder whether it'll be live all week like the papers said - although i expect it'll be a similar set up as it is now, half live, half recorded.

As others have said do you know whether or not any graphics are staying or whether it's a complete redisgn. The latter i expect with a new studio ect.

HD as well , i'm impressed! At first i thought the drastic changes could change the show to much , but from what i've seen so far, there've made some good decisions.

Do you have any idea weather their going to change the name?
Also is it going down the newsier route? Very Happy

Well known for Fiona Phillips and premium rate phone scams. Just two reasons why they should change the name.

was actaully going to write that !! it's still so well known - although the brand has been damaged by the premium rate scandel etc. I just think with all the changes it needs something the same, to keep it's core audience. GMTV can reinvent itself to gain a good repuation, I just don't think something like ITV day has the same ring to!

Even GM ITV or Good Morning ITV - just not something completely different like ITV DAY!
I should think most people would still call it GMTV for ages, even if it did change - like my bank Santander has now changed name - I still call it Abbey though! Laughing

And will GMTV get a new redesigned studio - because apparently Lorriane show is to be live with an audience.

The other breakfast show where there is audience in the studio that I can think of, the back to back sets for WABC-7 and Live With Regis & Kelly. The audience are let into the 'live' studio at 8.15, and therefore that last 2 local opts from the network Good Morning America has to be done on a PSC lock-out camera in the newsroom.

If this is true about GMTV, then I can see they will redesign the main studio - and possibally move Lorraine upto the skyline studio (which has held a small audience before for the last World Cup).

Although I'll say it again. GMTV really does need to move out of Kent House and try and find a street level/plaza studio in Central London just like ABC/CBS/NBC breakfast shows do in America. Run the 6-7 hour from a studio, then 7-8.45 from the outward facing streetlevel studio and Lorraines show taking the rest of the airtime from wherever they decide to park the show.
It would give the main 7-8.45 peaktime show a new purpose, bring in the crowds for headline acts, and get people in London visiting to wave and hold placards saying hello to the folks back home (which in turn will put a minor dent in the BBC breakfast viewing figures) in and out of the breaks..

..probably won't happen though on the grounds of cost.

I would love them to run with this idea but there'll be eggs on the windows when the polititians are on the sofa!

I'd love to see a street level / plaza setting for one of our breakfast shows. I was hoping this would happen at Broadcasting House when news moves there. The American versions are miles ahead of us presentation wise

How about 'breakfast:am'

How about 'breakfast:am'

It's too similar to BBC Breakfast.

Daybreak maybe? Could reference breaking news in their new set up?

Daybreak to circa 1990s

How about a return to the old days - Good Morning Britain
Could possible emulate the success of Good Morning America on ABC
