You had the exclusive on Ben Shepherd there Rob - why did you delete it?

So with Ben Sheppard and Katie Dehram both leaving I wonder who the third will be as the old saying goes Wink

Just a thought after an idea from another thread- if bosses are looking to attract a male audience then they should consider hiring Georgie Thompson from Sky Sports News as Adrian's sidekick. She seems to be flavour of the month in the sports/news world atm and could have the same affect that Holly had on This Morning. Shes a good presenter too Laughing

Just thought it was intresting what a fairly unknown former presnter of GMTV thought! Laughing
Quote:
Although the arrival of Adrian Chiles at GMTV will inevitably mean turmoil for some of my old mates still manning the sofa, it is a move akin to a perfectly placed free-kick for him.

The blokeishly charming One Show star inherits a programme that's well-loved, but also tired and in need of an injection of heavyweight sparkle.

His laid-back manner, down-to-earth ease and his sometimes biting dry wit will provide some muchneeded stuffing for that famous well-worn sofa. He will be blown away by the friendliness of the production staff and the tight-knit team, some of whom have been with GMTV since launch day 17 years ago and are people who consider it a passion rather than a job.

The One Show has a fair array of guests nightly, but nothing in the calibre of the prime ministers and prime movers who are lured on to that famous red breakfast couch. It's a privilege to sit there for 90 minutes - perfect timing for a football fan - and to interview the protagonists of all the main news stories of the day, before anyone else does.

And it's an honour knowing that as people get ready for the day ahead, that you are part of their daily routine. And they know it. And expect you to live up to it.

My advice to Adrian is to go out and paint the town red - or whatever colour West Bromwich Albion wear - and then have the sleep to end all sleeps. For what follows is a life lacking in it, thanks to those pesky 3am starts.

And for those unkind enough to suggest that Adrian needs all the beauty sleep he can muster, I'd say keep the beard, Chilesy - it'll give you an extra 10 minutes in bed.

Georgie Thompson would be an ideal co host - and will GMTV get a new redesigned studio - because apparently Lorriane show is to be live with an audience.

I can't imagine Adrian Chiles and Helen Fospero being paired-up as the lead anchors. There is just something too "Ikea" about that whole idea. LOL.

Wonder if Emma Crosby would go back to Sky News, or perhaps replace Katie Derham at ITN. (someone above mentioned that Katie is leaving? I didn't scan the entire thread as yet.)

I think ther will be a studio move as no way will studio 5 be able to have a live studio audience! There is bearly enough room as it is!

The other breakfast show where there is audience in the studio that I can think of, the back to back sets for WABC-7 and Live With Regis & Kelly at the ABC studio centre in New York. The audience are let into the 'live' studio at 8.15, and therefore the last 2 local opts from the network Good Morning America show has to be done on a PSC lock-out camera in the newsroom.

If this is true about GMTV, then I can see they will redesign the main studio - and possibally move Lorraine upto the skyline studio (which has held a small audience before for the last World Cup).

Although I'll say it again. GMTV really does need to move out of Kent House and try and find a street level/plaza studio in Central London just like ABC/CBS/NBC breakfast shows do in America. Run the 6-7 hour from a studio, then 7-8.45 from the outward facing streetlevel studio and Lorraines show taking the rest of the airtime from wherever they decide to park the show.
It would give the main 7-8.45 peaktime show a new purpose, bring in the crowds for headline acts, and get people in London visiting to wave and hold placards saying hello to the folks back home (which in turn will put a minor dent in the BBC breakfast viewing figures) in and out of the breaks..

..probably won't happen though on the grounds of cost.

I would love them to run with this idea but there'll be eggs on the windows when the polititians are on the sofa!
