They are going to need some male cover though. With all the football, Adrian will be taking quite a bit of time of from GMTV

I doubt Eamonn would settle for just being cover on another show and I can't see them keeping Andrew on because as far as sports correspondents go, with Dan already being there and Adrian joining, he will become pointless. He isn't that good when other things are concerned. Ben, I don't think he will see the point in staying if he is no longer a main presenter, he has a lot of work elsewhere.

If Adrian is going 5 days a week (a first for GMTV surely?! Laughing), even with the matches he still won't have much time off because matches on ITV1 aren't that frequent.

Seems like he was just really desperate to do something 5 days a week!

so it seems the Eamonn 'report' was just speculation. I think ITV need to keep Kate/Emma as Adrian's co-host otherwise (as someone else has said) the show will have changed too much.

Bad news for Ben/Andrew/Eamonn, and poor old Steve Ryder as well.

No it wasn't. Even he thought it was going to happen.

There will still need to be a cover presenter, FA Cup matches are Saturdays and Sundays, every 3-4 weeks during the season meaning he'd be working a 7 day week, Champions League every 2 weeks on Wednesdays, often abroad which would probably mean he'd be off Wednesday and Thursday that week, plus FA Cup replays and Adrian's own holiday entitlement?

Hope they keep Andrew Castle - in the new direction GMTV is going for serious news would suit Castle than Shephard.

They should move Shephard to a position like 'Entertainment Editor' and get Kate to be 'UK Editor' then everyone will be happy Very Happy Very Happy

Since ITV have taken control, they've made good and bad decisions.

The Good:

The Election coverage has been great, and indeed all Breaking Stories (Ash, etc)
They've utilised John Stapleton's strengths
Given us a dedicated Sport Presenter
Utilised the set (Kitchen, Election interview area)

The Bad:

They've decided to axe some great presenters (Penny, Carla)
At times they've become all too similar to 'This Morning'
They've let speculation go around that Eamonn was returning, which would have been great, but push him aside when Chiles comes into frame

The Ugly:

Adrian Chiles

They moved the Local News from after 8 to just after 7.30, not a new one

Ah yes, I confuse myself there.

Adrian Chiles on GMTV! Sounds almost disasterous in my view. Like someone has already said, ITV has let the more important people of GMTV go.
