And we're back. Continue discussion as normal, thank you very much. We were talking about a bloke who interrupted the weather, how some hope Eamon doesn't get paired with the girl off Loose Women, and how Helen and Penny may be sharing there weeks on the Newsdesk.

And how Kate Garraway was great on location at Heathrow airport and how this might suggest a change in role for the anchor??!!!!

Adrian Chiles is the latest name in the frame

Terrible move if true as far as GMTV is concerned, good for the football though.

Also, probably worth adding in, I think Penny is stuck abroad.

Also, Lorraine won't be able to do her normal early morning commute from Dundee tomorrow. Maybe she's travelling by train today in order to do her show tomorrow.

Nice TOTH camera sweeps on GM this morning. Also their coverage of the flight problems is pretty good.

ITV STATEMENT:
ITV has signed an exclusive four-year deal with Adrian Chiles to present a range of high profile programming, including ITV's football coverage and GMTV.

Chiles will lead ITV's World Cup coverage in June, including England's two peaktime opening games, and from next season he will be in the chair for the Champions League, England's home internationals and away friendlies as well as The FA Cup - the best portfolio of live free-to-air games in the country.

The deal will also see Chiles take a seat on the GMTV sofa five mornings a week later this year and he will host a new factual entertainment series from 2011.

Peter Fincham, ITV Director of Television, Channels and Online, said:

"Adrian is a brilliant presenter, journalist and a football fanatic - I'm very much looking forward to working with him again when he joins ITV.

"He has the rare talent of being able to make television presenting look effortless. He will be at home at ITV whether it is on our flagship breakfast programme or in the football studio."

Adrian Chiles said:

"I'm absolutely delighted to be joining ITV, especially as I'll be renewing acquaintances with two key figures in my career: Peter Fincham, who conceived The One Show in the first place and asked me to present it. I'm delighted to be part of his ambitious plans for ITV. And I'm also looking forward to working again with Niall Sloane who, as the BBC's head of football, launched Match of the Day 2 with me.

"The chance to front ITV's football coverage and GMTV would have proved an irresistible opportunity at the best of times. But, coming as it did at an awkward period for me at the BBC, it made the decision to leave not quite as hard as it might have been.

"I would have been happy to stay at the BBC doing the same shows on the same terms, especially The One Show, of which I am so proud having worked on it since the first pilots four years ago.

"It's no secret how disappointed I was by the controller's decision to change an apparently successful and well-loved show at this stage, but fully respect her right to do so and sincerely wish her and the brilliant One Show team well with it.

"I've spent all my working life at the BBC, working with and learning from some of the best people in the business. I will miss all my friends and colleagues very much but can't wait to get started with new people on two major new challenges for me at ITV."

Bye bye Ben & Andrew then. Its a shame Eamonn isn't returning though.

I think this is a very bad move on his part. The BBC axed him one day a week so he could focus on his new show, and the BBC did treat him very well with The Apprentice, MOTD2 and The One Show. I also don't see how he is going to work with Kate & Emma, he seems quite miserable, and if GMTV axe them two as well I think this relaunch will be a disaster. You really can't change a show too much before it becomes a new show.

They are going to need some male cover though. With all the football, Adrian will be taking quite a bit of time of from GMTV
