"Weekend starts here" just sounds like what normally goes into that slot
Quote:
08.30-09.25 WEEKEND STARTS HERE with Nina Hossain
* KATE NASH - performs her new single: 'Do Wah Do'
* MAX BROWN - the gorgeous young star of ITV1's Foyle's War, Mistresses and The Tudors joins us for a sofa chat
* LA LIVE - with Ross King
* GMTV KITCHEN - with Rosemary Shrager
I wonder if they keep it after this week and if Ruth will present it next week?
Although Nina is good, she seems very wooden and lacks personality. maybe her news background makes her appear 'stiff' somewhat?
I think that the news coming from the news room looks great at the mo - does anyone have any caps??
I think the kitchen has been a hit on GMTV - despite what I earlier thought of the kitchen, it has warmed to me and looks much better. I particularly like the blue hue on the backdrop and I think this colour should be in use when the news is presented in this area instead of the heavy dark blue that it currently used. Any thoughts?

I have to agree with you about Nina - she has great presentation - but I just don't feel she has the personality that the show requires and she does appear a bit stiff, I think mainly because of the lightweight items

She is probably still in 'news' mode. She looks far more relaxed on GMTV than shes does on ITV News, but I don't really think she is right for the LK Today format. No doubt Ruth will take to it like a duck to water though. If they are keeping Nina, I hope she isn't permanently presenting the "weekend starts here" thing. They'd be better having her presenting the news once Penny goes and as I said a few posts back it could be worth keeping the Newshour with one presenter from the desk.
I agree about the kitchen too, but I think they should consider cooking something a bit more 'breakfast', noone wants to make a stir fry at 9am!

Yeah, well for me somebody who sees her frequently on London Tonight she has been far more "relaxed" compared to her news presentation. I really like Ninas presenting but sometimes on LT she doesn't seem to be very friendly with her co-presenter whoever it is. Although im sure she is a very nice person, watching GMTV has showed Nina's flair a lot more.
