On the GMTV website, they have now loaded their programme policy for 2010. Looks promising!

It seems the papers were right about Ruth Langsford filling in for Lorraire - ITV's online TV Guide has her presenting on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13, and I assume she would present Wed. and Thur. as well... Cool

Is there any mention of Nina Hossain, who was also rumoured to present also?

GMTV Website says

Interesting move if she has been signed up permanently, I'm guessing its to bridge the gap between GMTV and ITV News (unless of course she has left ITV News).

But her article doesn't really say what she'll be doing, and the 2010 programme policy says that they are going to focus more on news and begin to rival the BBC. Perhaps Nina, along with Helen, will become the main newsreaders once Penny has left- getting the job Penny was offered before she quit.

I can't see them bothering to set a page up if shes just a guest host, I mean otherwise one for Ruth would be up by now.

Nina's doing good so far this morning. She still seems a bit 'newsy' when reading the autocue however during interviews and the cooking segment, she seemed more relaxed.

I thought that Nina was excellent. A great addition to the team.

If IT-GMTV are serious about being more newsy this year, then Nina should be one of the main sofa presenters instead of these lightweights or have dubious connections to the Labour Party.

Agreed, Nina would have a huge potential on GMTV if they went newsy. It would be a recognizable news face that people could trust to bring them news on GMTV.

I think Nina is eventually going to replace Penny. As I said a few posts back there would be very little point in adding her own profile page if she was only going to be with GMTV for less than 4 hours. She currently works for ITN on a freelance basis so there is nothing stopping her at all sharing the main newsreader job with Helen. Ideally they'd get rid of Emma or Kate in favour of her but they aren't going to ditch Emma after making a big deal of her signing, and Kate is too valuable to dispose of because shes always in the papers. I think of the 4 left, Andrew is the only one who could possibly lose his job.

They should consider keeping the Newshour but having either Nina or Helen presenting it alone and from the news desk. They're both more than capable of doing the more in depth interviews. They should also assign one to read the news when Ben & Kate are presenting, and the other when Emma & Andrew are presenting (same with the weather girls). It gives them 2 distinct teams that way.
