GMTV (1993 - 2010)

I think ITV plc has provided the advertising for GMTV2/3/4 as long as it they have been licenced.

That wasn't the question, the question was how long has GMTV been advertised on ITV2. I don't know the exact answer though. I would imagine though they may have always advertised on ITV2 since the days of GMTV2 in the same way GMTV has always been guaranteed a couple of slots on ITV (and even TV-am was before it!).

Penny will be leaving the show in May as GMTV will be relaunching from June.

Do we know anything about the relaunch (other than it is major?) I fear plenty of ITV Genericness

Will it? News to me if its June. Don't expect a relaunch until at least the autumn.

Various news outlets say Penny is leaving in June so they can relaunch the show around then. But June always did sound a bit weird, it makes more sense if it happens in September or even next January.

June - Summer relaunch? Doesn't sound a bad idea

It is correct that Penny will be leaving and John will 'move-on' from the sofa at the end of May but there won't be a relaunch at that time.

Historically ratings dip during the summer - so you wouldn't normally relaunch then. If you did and the ratings naturally fell (as they do during a summer) some would accuse the relaunch of failing. (I can see the headlines "GMTV relaunch loses 100,000 viewers" etc.) If you relaunch in the autumn, as audiences start to increase again, then you can use this to your advantage ("GMTV relaunch increases audiences by 100,000")

All the news articles that reported Penny's axing all stated that the show would relaunch in June! Breakdown in communications somewhere!

I dont think anyone would be too suprised if we saw something along the lines of this soon: lol
