Stick with the name it's got, change the name and (it has already) but it would definitely loose it's identity

I agree, it should stay as GMTV.

I don't see why, just because ITV now have full ownership, they need to put the ITV name in it. This Morning isn't called 'ITV This Morning' yet it is owned by ITV.

If ITV have any sense, they won't go messing with the name, unless they can think of a strong name which people will like and want to watch.

Completely agree. I think they could only get away with 'Good Morning Britain' as it nods towards the GMTV name.

No matter what its current state, GMTV is iconic- its a staple of ITV and the name should never be changed whilst its on air. However I do think they should revert GMTV with Lorraine back to LK Today or something similar and start it bang on 8.30am. I think they should ditch the 9.25am start too, although the logistics may be a bit hard to put that in place with STV and UTV. One way of working around it would be for Lorraine to come off air at 9.24am and start Jeremy Kyle or whatever at 9.28am but billed as 9.30am.

Also, This Morning is going 7 days a week, could we see something similar for GMTV? I know I said a few pages back that they probably won't ditch CITV but after that announcement, I'm starting to think that at least on one of the days we'll have some kind of GMTV compilation, probably selling itself as a weeks review in news.

I notice the weekend edition of This Morning is not in the morning for the first Saturday. But I did have the thought of it being the weekend version of GMTV and have maybe a news update half way though or before even though This Morning weekends will be recorded.

I suppose of the ITV Morning News ever got axed/made part off the GMTV Newshour there maybe a need to provide a weekend replacement - indeed they would probably need someone on standby at least to cover breaking news - so a weekend morning summary might be possible

ITV Day was already done back in 2005..

To put it bluntly, it did not work out well, and was axed with the 2006 rebrand.

So the likelihood of them using that name again to refer to GMTV is slim.

The 0810 local news seems to have been moved to 0735 from this morning. Bet it won't be long before there's no local news at all.

Just because they have rejigged the programme running order, it doesn't mean they are getting rid of local news. They have the same amount of bulletins just rescheduled.

To me in fact, it's better at 7:35 because if people want local travel etc for work then this is a good time as generally by 8:10 most people would have already left home for work. Also by watching this morning it appears to be more serious upto 8 and then the softer items, I.e Talking Telly after 8 which works much better.

The programme also finished slightly later today at 9.24, with no ad break before Jeremy Kyle

What traffic news? ITV Granada does not do traffic news.
I preferred the local news where it was. Peope switching on after 740 will miss it.

There's now over a 6 hour gap between local bulletins on ITV. It will be axed as they'll save lots of money by not staffing the regional newsrooms for a couple of off- peak hours.
