According to The Sun, Ben is 'worried' about his future. Well, I hate to say it, but he doesn't need to be. Also another thing, he said he likes working with 'Kate Garraway and the guys' - unless he classes Emma as a 'guy', he's forgot to mention her! He really does favour Kate over everyone else, doesn't he?

She's the self appointed queen of GMTV- everyone sucks up to her at the minute. I remember when Fiona was there, it seemed noone at GMTV had any time for her.

In ratings news- it appears that BBC has massively increased its lead over GMTV. For Tuesday and yesterday, the ratings for GMTV were 0.98m and 1m respectively whilst BBC had 1.53 and 1.6m. Thats compared to about a year ago where GMTV would be on 1.1m and BBC on about 1.3m.

It would be nice if they had a complete change of style, especiallly if they took the chance to move to Grays Inn Road to be with the ITN operation if they were to supply the news element.

A set similar to the original one used by GMTV would be much better. It was versatile and more interesting that those they have created since.

TBH I rather liked the original format of the anchors welcoming viewers from the desk, reading the news, then weather while they repositioned on the sofa.

If they must do away with Penny, then give the news bulletins back to the presenters. God knows at least the girls have done straight bulletins before in their careers.

So the first question on a pres forum ... new set and graphics ahead already?

Yes big time - watch this space.

Can you say if the logo is changing? I really think it should change back to a modern variant of the (GM) TV logo, I think they've suffered somewhat of an identity crisis since they changed it.

I would put my house on it. Seriously this is likely to be THE most significant change in the history of the former station that is now a programme on ITV1 - but I can't stress enough that its very early days.

Here is a brief article reporting that the kids presenters are going. Also tells how Lorriane and her show are staying put!

The Toonattik strand was always destined for the axe as soon as ITV took over. They'd already put it under the CITV branding even when Disney were partial owners, so it was just a matter of time before the inevitable happened. Its going to be interesting over the next few months what happens to everyone else. I'm starting to think one of the 4 main remaining presenters will be axed too. So far we have:

Axed/leaving- Penny, Gloria, Carla, Jamie, Anna
Role change- John

Carla's leaving!!!!??? That's a shame. But GMTV are correct when they say that now there will be a core presenting team and I think this will be much better. I hope that Helen stays. it would be nice to see her and Dan at the news desk every morning. Despite popular opinion on here, I believe that Kate is the most superior female presenter that the station has.

Despite being well outside the target range I've always enjoyed Anna and Jamie in the Toonattik, it's a real shame.

What's on the way for the weekend then? Back to back cartoons or soap repeats?

Cant see STV and UTV being very happy if they make it too ITV1.

or a weekend edition of GMTV

I think they'll just leave it as CITV, I can't see them wanting to cut costs and then airing a weekend edition of GMTV which won't get many more viewers and will cost much more. Plus airing CITV during GMTV is how ITV have been getting away with not airing regular kids shows on ITV1 (together with the CITV channel). And I guess GMTV have a quota of kids programming to show anyway.

Very unhappy to see Penny & Carla go, and it's all for the worse in my opinion. I've stuck with GMTV so far, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do it again with all these changes ahead.

I'm not certain Carla is going. I think the Mail got that wrong
