It funny to look overseas to Australia, where they completely relaunched their morning show - Sunrise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3FcX4voCr8) and here there is some much debate about who should go and what the new format should be like.

It seems they have taken the current look of NBC Today with the blue backdrop and fresh approach to it, looks nice. Notice they call him by his full name on the announcer, im sure they use to say Mel and Koshi?

Apart from Emma Crosby the others are unbearable and only suited to fluffy tv.

I don't think that is entirely fair!

I feel strongly that GMTV doesn't/shouldn't become ITV News, in the formatic and visual sense. I know ITV now owns GMTV, however, I think that GMTV should retain its individuality. The last thing we want is GMTV overtaken by ITN. In a rather vague example, its almost like Craft taking over Cadbury! For the last 17 (?) years GMTV's brand idenity has been consistent (despite the rebrands ect) in the sense that it has always remained true to its core viewer. Now, the viewing demands have evolved. No longer is the viewer wanting cozy celebs chats, but news. I would like to see GMTV face this new era as a company and work with GMTV's traditional approach to branding but with a new, newsier stance. To do this, I don't think ITV News are need needed. Nor does a lot of money need to be spent. I apologise for recycling old posts by saying that if both the BBC Breakfast format and the GMTV format were merged, it would create an immensely successful format that would satisfy the viewers completely!

Emma Crosby lacks personality and needs sacking, IMO.

This looks graet. I've never seen sunrise regularly but I think this look could work for GMTV. despite the desk, the show looks soo much warmer and friendlier than BBC Breakfast.

That's fantastic. The set's heavily influenced by NBC's Today Show - but the whole thing just looks so much warmer and more impressive. Lovely graphics too. Very friendly, laid back style too - although I'd expect nothing less from the Aussies!

ooooo! Is that a new mezzanine level to the set!

Last time I was at Martins Place (in Sydney) the whole set was at street level! (and that was only last January)

WoW! This sort of look could make GMTV absolutely amazing! Thanks for posting the clip! For those who think that this is off topic, we are disscussing options for GMTV if a rebrand is on the cards!
