Heres my idea for a revamp then if others have done one. The theme of the graphics would stay the same in terms of blue and yellow, but they would get a new look, and no mixing red in with these colours unless its for breaking news. The studio would be bigger, with Newshour and GMTV Today presented from different sets as it makes it look like one long running program. It would move to a studio with an actual window rather than a screen. There would be none of this mix and match with the sets which they do, like presenting a section of Newshour from the LK Today studio as it makes GMTV feel like one long running show, rather than a channel with 3 seperate shows. Heres what I would do.

GMTV Newshour (6.00-7.00 each day exc Saturday)

Monday- Wednesday John Stapleton and Penny Smith
Thursday, Friday & Sunday - John Stapleton and Gloria De Piero

GMTV Today (7.00-8:30 each day exc Saturday)

Monday-Thursday Kate Garraway and a new male presenter
Friday and Sunday Andrea McLean and Ben Shephard

8:30-9:30 slot

Monday Entertainment Today (Jenni Falconer)
Tuesday- Thursday LK Today
Friday Entertainment Today (Jenni Falconer)
Sunday Toonattik

This revamp would see Andrew Castle and Fiona Phillips axed from GMTV Today, Ben Shephard and Michael Underwood axed from Entertainment Today and GMTV airing on a Sunday. Also, Kate Garraway would become the anchor with Andrea McLean presenting as she has the ability to do more than the weather. ITV1 would also start at 9:30, giving GMTV an extra 5 minutes that will add up so that ITV1 is not disrupted when it needs to take time from GMTV to air F1. Saturdays would remain the same.

Nice idea, having Today on a Sunday as well, although to be fair to GMTV, they DID do this for about the first year - in the form of "Sunday Best" hosted, as in the above suggestion, by the Friday presenters - originally Eamonn and Anne Davies (Later Anne and Mike Morris IIRC)

Unfortunately it soon died, in favour of the terminally dull Sunday Programme...

I'm surprised this hasent been mentioned (i dont think), but while resting up flicking though the music channels i came across "Bell's Boys - Today's The Day" - thats the song, well theme...

If memory serves me right, it was for "Get up and Give" ......"Get up and give, todays the day, get up and give because todays the day....." (something to that effect).

Yes thats correct. Get Up & Give was what it was used for. Get Up & Give however was always a ratings loser apparently. It was dropped in the end because GMTV always took a drop in viewers when it was on. Anyone remember when GMTV used to tour different locations on a Friday morning in the summer? Eamonn & Fiona would be in a different shopping centre every Friday morning.

now the weatheri s getting nicer, perhaps gmtv will go on the riverb ank as they have done in previous years. also remember in summers gone by gmtv would tour beaches up and down the uk and also hire out a villa in spain for the summer then give it away afer presenting from there.

You're not watching enough. Presenting from the wharf outside TLS and "beaches" has already happened several times so far this year.

The first new weather presenter since Ian McCaskill appeared this morning. I don't know who she is though. Here's a cap for those who haven't seen it...

Oh, and a guest uttered the word bull **** on the NewsHour this morning. Didn't apologise for using it though. Anyone have a video capture? I just missed it.
