Anglia News used a ticker under the DOG today during Regional Opt. It was transparent and BBC News style, with the word Snow Latest sliding up, fading and then the latest travel coming up. Actually was quite nice, and original from Anglia?
Central had one, it was more GMTV style with it lined up with the NEWS D.O.G, showing transport news.
Ahh, ours also only lasted half a bulletin, and was underneath, and hard to read because the text was in white and snow pics kept showing up.

So did Centrals, I think it was for the travel-y bit and thereafter only.
If the 'insiders' are correct, what is the point in keeping Ben? If they want GMTV to be taken more seriously then they shouldn't really keep him especially with him being an entertainment presenter with no journalistic background whatsoever. If its true, I think Kate will go.

If anyones for the axe, it shouldn't be the girls. I think Mr Stapleton should go as at 63, he only has 2 years left until retirement. Andrew and Ben are the weaker of the today presenters. Maybe Lorraine could be for the chop also!
In an ideal world, I'd like Ben to go - its not like hes short of other projects, and in the past few months hes just became more and more irritating. I think he's sort of out-grown GMTV, now that he has Krypton, DOI etc.
As for the females, I don't think the show would be lost without Kirsty - but if a more senior presenter is being axed, it has to be Kate. I think shes actually ruffled a few feathers especially during the Fiona days, remember all the newspaper reports of them not getting on? I also think shes quite put out by the fact that Emma has been a huge success and has many fans. So I wouldn't be surprised if she went. Penny could easily replace her, with Helen at the newsdesk role permanently.
That said, I'm surprised the bosses are wanting to change the presenter slots - maybe they have realised they don't need two couples of presenters? For instance, say Kate and Ben are axed - Emma & Andrew could be the main presenters, with less prominent stand-ins like Penny and Gloria, and as for the males, Nick Dixon - he's presented the news a few times, and I think he has the personality for the sofa.
I think this will be an interesting year for the show, whatever happens..
I think there are dramatic (and potentially ugly) days ahead for GMTV.
The programme probably would benefit from having just TWO main presenters. But the original Mirror article sounds like it could have been written by Emma Crosby's agent. (Personally I think Andrew Castle is very vulnerable now, even though I think he's far superior to Ben).
To save money, what about the two presenters reading all of the news, and perhaps making Helen one of the presenters? I think she's suitably experienced.
Like others, I think Ben should go. Like Andrew, he lacks journalism experience, and doesn't seem very well suited to serious news and interviewing politics. I think Andrew, in some ways, seems more credible and worthy.
Also, was there ever an official reason as to why Priya left? I much prefer Helen anyway.
It seems GMTV is definitely going down a different road now. Whether that will make things better, I don't know.
I hope Andrew doesn't go, him and Emma are great together... and I agree with most posts, for me Ben has to go... but on twitter someone who worked for GMTV says insiders tell her everyones job is safe for atleast the next year, so who knows whats really happening...
I agree that the news area should go if there are any cutbacks to be made, that would save employing a separate news reader and GMTV should then adopt a more BBC Breakfast syle news reading format with the main, anchoring presenters reading all news. they could still incorporate GMTV's infamous entertainment edge into this. At the moment, there are 7 anchoring presenters for a 5 day run programme that is on for 3 hours a week. This does sound pretty excessive; not to mention Helen, Dan, Richard Arnold, Clare and Kirsty who make up the rest of the studio presenters. Jenni Faulkner has also been on this week!
