No local news in Granadaland at 0635, just a brief clip of the regular newsreader.
I suspect she'd been stuck in Manchesters really bad snow, it looked like she'd not had her hair and make up done.
Then the usual GMTV holding slide and music.

All as normal at 0705

Dan Lobb is quite good, and nice to see a dedicated sports presenter, instead of someone from the mirror!

Also, new sponsor for GMTV with Lorraine, and I can't remember who it is now.

So GMTV relaunched a year to the day, the lead story a year to the day is rather fitting Laughing

I can't believe that I actually liked that when it first aired, its changed so much in the past year and that looks very cold now!

I much preferred the relaunch if I'm totally honest. The use of 3D has gone too far. The way the astons animate is nice, but the 3D logo is just... URGH! The other thing I loathe is the date and coming up graphics. I don't see why not use the blue/orange background instead of the yellow swirls, and instead of having the text aligned with the clock, why not use the 'speech bubble' aston like they did at the original relaunch... And I prefer the original clock with the numbers closer together and the slight gradient.

I wondered why that was ditched the next day. In my opinion it looked better.

Well its days like this one when GMTV comes into it's own. Kate and Andrew have played a blinder from 7 onwards with non-stop news. Kate's interviews have been strong and the use of the company's four best correspondents (Richard Gaisford, Jonathon Swain, Marcella Whittingdale and Elaine Wilcox) have allowed for some excellent coverage. Very Happy

I would like to see Dan Lobb present his news from the news desk!!! Confused

I agree with a previous comment about the weather presentation at the moment: I dont know why the presenter is only shown from the waist up, seems silly really compared to the usual format.

And just a quick note to say how much better Kate looks this morning with all that hair off her face!! Very Happy

how much more proffessional does GMTV look with the ticker currently full time! I hope that when the snow disappears the ticker remains! Very Happy Smile

Looking back at that clip I can see some great features that could be brought back . For example, the logo board that separates the headline with that percussion beat should return, along with the news sting that was much more newsy. The news area looked so much better also. I admit I'm sounding like a broken record here when I say (again) that the news area needs to be revamped but in Jan last year, itlooked better, without those ''special'' effects.

Anglia News used a ticker under the DOG today during Regional Opt. It was transparent and BBC News style, with the word Snow Latest sliding up, fading and then the latest travel coming up. Actually was quite nice, and original from Anglia?

Central had one, it was more GMTV style with it lined up with the NEWS D.O.G, showing transport news.
