What a waste of a couple of pages. If members want to have spats between themselves, then take it off the forum. It shouldn't ruin a perfectly good thread.

It would also be appreciated if people could stop it from continuing when it looks to be dying down by stepping away from their keyboard for a while.

Well said.
Now, GMTV post December.
A new Director of programmes, management structure, and...?

...and what, realistically, will the difference be?

How much would they dare change a format that generally seems to work rather well?

Maybe they might bring back lk today, which would be nice Laughing

I hope a new Director of Programming introduces better segments on GMTV, like:
GMTV Investigations
GMTV On Assignment
GMTV Conversation With........

Something to bring a journalistic edge to GMTV, instead of today tabloid's style its developed.

A proper news desk for the presenters would also be nice too.

I think that's what they are trying to avoid. GMTV is a magazine show, not really a heavy news show.

On that note, I have to add that the hour from 7:00-8:00 was been much more news based and was very impressive and actually suited the show last week. Especially the first half an hour with Penny anchoring the political interviews with Andrew playing a good part, the show worked very well!

I also noticed this week that sometimes the news presenter hosts the link to the regional news, like last year. At this time, there was a great pan out of the news area and the view was nice. If anyone has any caps of the zoomed-out news area then please post!

Someone recently posted that they should bring back LK Today? Why? They have LK Today, format and all; only with a better, more consistant name of 'GMTV With Lorraine'.

Usually the News Desk presenter will hand over to regions after half past 6 and the sofa team will only do that hand over on rare occasions like Friday when Helen handed back to Penny for more on the American deaths. And, at 7, I think Helen handed over due to the fact that she was speaking the NBC news reporter. Also, at the 6am TOTH yesterday, they were talking to Sue Jameson, and the LIVE strap said: New York, then changed to Sue Jameson, and then disappeared.

Another strap mention: I like the transitions between the 'Email us' strap and the 'text us'. Quite nice.

Why would you want to do that? The current music is better and although is bespoke it ties in well with the current GMTV music package.

Why should GMTV have a news desk for the presenters when it isn't a news programme? And the tabloid style is targetting its audience properly and not going after an audience it will never have.

There is a proper News desk, unless you're suggesting GMTV should get a desk like ITV News had?
