GMTV (1993 - 2010)

Yes i was a bit taken back by this. Were they just played out by mistake or have they returned permanently? i only saw the 08:00 opening so am unsure.

Why did they ditch the titles?

Albeit very briefly, IIRC she then moved to Sky News the following year '98.

I saw the original GMTV Today titles this morning too and i was quite frankly appalled. There is no continuity with the graphics or titles. We have this new animated sun and an ammended theme tune and they can't be bothered to change the break titles!! Also the main GMTV ident also has not been updated. I hope to see a dramatic improvement in September! As for the titles this morning, i hope they were a one off - were they played at 08:00 too?
Personally i like GMTV but they need to get their act together!!!!

I only saw the 08:00 opening and it was the old titles. I take it you saw the 07:00 opening which im guessing showed the old titles too. The new bed really doesn't go well with the old titles and it all seemed very amaturish this morning. About time someone at GMTV pulled there finger out and gave the place a bit of continuity.

I know this has been said time and time again, but GMTV needs a total makeover: new-look studio, new graphics, and maybe a bit of a new format!

You are correct it was the 7 o clock titles i saw! - can't believe that it was the same at 8am!
I am SOOOOO glad i am not the only one that thinks what i do about the state of GMTV. It could be great and yet they just don't seem to care. Have any of you lot got any mocks of GMTV that i could have a look at? I also was wondering if you used any particular programmes that you can do mock designs on?

P.S Do you think that they will change the titles to incorporate the new SPARKLY sun?

Yes, the show does need a major revamp, along with new presenters, etc

Well it was back to the usual opening titles this morning and not the old one's. All seems very strange.

Do you reckon they showed the old titles because the current titles have that animating sun slowly appearing over the leading story pictures, and as the top story was the Virginia shootings, it was deemed inappropriate to show the animating sun, which has that light hearted feel? Although, the old titles don't have a more serious look to them.

No the old titles were simply played in error.

Played twice in error? That's hardly good is it.
