The woman anouncer bit sounds a bit like one of the ones that does the automated anouncements on London Buses or one of the train companies, half kept expecting her to anounce the destination. As for the 3D graphics, I'm not sure, but that could just be because I'm not used to it. It wasn't quite how I was expecting it and not sure it if works. You come out of a very flatly animated titles and suddently the logo jumps out at you.

To me, it's all just too tacky. The flying logos look very cheap and the date at the side of the presenters is hideous. Not a fan of the boxes either.

Has anybody got a video of the straps' animations? Forgot to set my recorder this morning Embarassed

Sometimes it's nice to break away from the norm and try something different.
With BBC Breakfast now chasing the same type of items as GMTV, as well as adopting a big red sofa, maybe a little individuality is welcome?
If anything, people will have a choice now between news and current affairs with a personality and a pulse, or television by numbers with stodgy autocue readers and a fat irishman doing finance.

Personally I think the 3D logo in the titles would have been better if it animated like the glass wipes, it could have had the same animation but faded into the glass effect and transitioned into the studio shot. I think it would make the opening more fast paced and also I prefer the glass wipe animation to the slow and rather clumsy one that they have at the end of the titles.

Absolute waste of time. The way the logos animate is far too silly. The GMTV with Lorraine logo is even more ridiculous. The voiceover is a waste of time. We know who these presenters are!! We see them every morning! I know she's called Penny and he's called John.

The glass wipes are a waste of time. The animation of the straps is much better, and the two-way graphic and the background for that is much better as well. As for all of this 3D stuff, it's far too dramatic and silly. It looks as though these changes have been implemented by an American kid, who has seen too much of The Today Show.

Someone's gone a bit crazy on Powerpoint. Also, as people denigrate Breakfast for business news, GMTV don't have any, or any Sport. I will definitely be staying with Breakfast. Far too soft, celebrity nonsense for my liking. I don't get any 3D logos on Breakfast. Ben Shepard is terrible as well. The presenters on Breakfast know what they're on about.

Exactly, I have a feeling it is all over the top and done just because they now can and want to show off, rather than because it looks good or actually adds anything to the presentation. But it also could just be that I'm not used to it, so will see if it grows on me, but that is my ininitial reaction.

A waste of time? Chill out, it's only television!
A good point though, if you want to know if your footsie is in the cac or a little hang seng that badly, then SWITCH OVER.
A waste of time? Not as much as buying that flak-jacket and hard hat for Kate Silverton.

Surely people just want to see the headlines and the news at the top of the hour. Not logos, shapes and whatever else flying around in all directions. Far too American and dramatic. Let's hope they change it, like they always do.

I don't want X Factor thrown at my face every five minutes. I really thought that GMTV would turn the corner. They are just the same as they were years ago. Isn't that why Eamonn left, because it was too entertainment-based? It has always been known that GMTV is watched by people with little education, who want to know what X Factor was like, or what's going on in the soaps. I want proper news, by people who know what they're on about.

I think it's abit rude actually. To say he/she is supposed to be from GMTV, you'd have thought he/she'd be a bit more professional, rather than calling someone on the oppositions programme "fat" in defence of some people not liking graphical changes.

Working for GMTV or any company in fact, you would be biased or subjective, in favour of the company you work for. I just thought the changes would be more subtle, not so in-your-face like they are now. It's far too distracting, for the average viewer.

I agree. Shows that perhaps GMTV isn't so light, fluffy and friendly as the graphics.

GMTV to me has improved from what it was but has a long way to go. Breakfast in my opinion have got the right balance of serious and fluffy items (though I would prefer them to stop plugging BBC shows constantly). GMTV sensationalises (just look at Swine Flu). Phone-in competitions and GMTV Weddings aren't exactly my cup of tea.

Naturally, but there's no need to be so rude about it.

Breakfast is not the opposition, GMTV cares not for it's ageing audience (sorry, I mean an audience constantly maturing).
And I'm not blind, he is fat (as opposed to clinically obese, or whatever the PC term is)

Yes, in a break from the last year, I am feeling a little brash. I suppose it's the realisation that change meets opposition from refusniks and naysayers.
You know what GMTV is like. They trial stuff on air, and change it if they don't like it. It's constantly evolving, and unpredictable. It doesn't have a committee of people deciding the presentation, but it has a razor-sharp editorial that knows its audience. You can't tell me that when you watch you're not secretly hoping for an on-air gaff or something else that celebrates the fact it's LIVE? What other channel/programme transmits 3 1/2 hours live a day and has as much fun or variation?
Back to you.
