I loved the comment Kate made this morning. She was reporting from Wimbledon, she had a racquet and ball and Ben told her to hit the ball, she hit it across the field and she joked "dam, just missed the BBC crew" Laughing

I liked the walk out of the Set shot style on the close theme today Laughing

I liked that too, but I think the jib going over the cameras to the back of the studio would be better and smoother.

Yes, the end shot did look very shaky and unprofessional. Definitely, as you describe, something they should do in future with the jib, so we can see the sofa area, the cameras and a 'blanket' view of the studio. It was a good end camera shot though.

Any insiders here know if the cameraman with the handheld was new, because as they (presenters) were linking to Cascada performing, the camera was all over the place. It's usually steadier than that even going into a performance.
They only ever seem to close the programme like that if the handheld has been used during the show which is a pity, as there are a lot of other ways to close the programme in a similar style without the need for a handheld camera

I saw this as well. The clip is on YouTube. Very shaky indeed.

Not sure if this is the case or not, but the 'live performance' is actually pre-recorded during one of the longer breaks around 8am (always an interesting thing to see with such little turnaround time!) so the rather dodgy pull from the presenters to the singer could have been some kind of technique to cover up crossing from a live shot to the vt.

The pull from the presenters to the singer wasn't changed, It was one whole shot. I don't think it was pre-recorded either. There's a screen they have over the background of the performance area. If it was recorded and you see the screen, you only see a GMTV caption but it was showing the live feed of the performance today so it was a live performance. It also looks like she (Cascada) was lip-syncing. They do pre-record some of the performances though, probably during the local news segments as they have a good 5 mins to wrap it all up but I think this is only if the performers are in a rush to get out as they have other things (Such as have to catch a plane or go elsewhere)

Its live, the only time performances are recorded are during the Lorraine shows on a Wednesday or Thursday. The reason from going from the sofa to the performance area on one camera is to show its live.

I can also assure you that nothing can be recorded in the couple of minutes of local news or the breaks, that is rehearsal time. You're right about one thing Cascada was a full mime. Did you also notice that there were two different 'rapper' parts but only one rapper.

All they did was use the music posted in the Requests forum, along with a still GMTV logo. No crediting tellywatcher who kindly gave us the music.
